Oscar, by starting this thread have you got evidence that people who trades here are not 100% ok?
BTW, the owner and mods of TRF cannot be held liable for a sour trade. Granted most of the mods will read the forsale forum threads and ajudicate whether forum posting rules are observed. However if someone sends money to the seller and the seller does a runner, there is nothing the owner and mods here can do other than to ban the scammer. As always, caveat emptor. |

Take a look at the Buyers/Sellers Who's Who:
http://www.rolexforums.com/forumdisplay.php?f=28 Sellers and buyers are covered there. Just a quick plug, Paulie from Chicagoland is an outstanding seller. I'm very happy with the Marathon SAR I bought from him.

I have great experience buying from member here, you just have to check the seller's feedback and prev post to ensure legitimacy
But I know from beginning that TRF is safer than other watch forum because the rules imposed for FS section. Again, if you have no confident, AD is always there. |

Oscar, May I say from experience. Don't jump too soon. You will take a huge hit on your 1 week old watch and it is your first Rolex. Hang on for a while or save for a new one which will give you the chance to decide. I know so many people who wish they still had their first inc me. Save for a Daytona and then you will have casual and dress. JMO. |

If someone does have a bad experience with another member of TRF, we won't allow the name of the individual to be posted out in the open.
1) It's a case of one vs the other and we have no evidence of either. 2) We don't tolerate bad mouthing of other members. 3) Read the rules in the FS section. Buyer beware.

I feel your pain BodyBump. But after having read on the site for awhile prior to joining, I have since done a couple of deals with Steve Mullholland3, and just shipped him my newly aquired #5513. I enjoy & respect input from Orchi as well...
Quite a few helpful Family Member's are here on TRF. Go with whom you may feel comfortable and who is more local to you is my recco. |

A while back a guy came on and had all these watches, then decided to sell them all. There were holes in his story and then he vanished. We have some pretty good detective types here!

Hello all,
I've been lurking here for almost a year, but don't post too much. I'm considering selling my GMT IIc, but don't have enough posts to submit in the Classified's. That's the easy part. But what suggestions do you have for creating any sense of confidence on the part of prospective buyers? I'm an honest guy (they all say that, don't they?) and want to deal fairly. I'm friends with the GM of the AD I purchased my watch from. How safe / reliable is it to have someone call that AD and speak with the GM as a reference on my behalf? Is that even allowed? Thanks in advance for any input you might have. Daniel |

Ask for references. Walk away if at all uncomfortable - there are other watches out there.

buy from an AD if it's your first Rolex......or look for someone near you on here that is selling one so you can visually inspect and have it certified by a AD, you pay the cost. After that you should have enough experience to decide what is a scam and what is not and look for deals on here. I made the mistake my first time around buying a "new" Rolex from someone that an AD thought it was stolen or a fake so I returned it to the seller, got my refund, and bought the model I wanted at an AD.
