does the chrono on a ss daytona actually measure 40mm? anyone have a pic with calipers?

excuse me i should have said case. but in the picture above i see the caliper in not touching on the left side. so i guess its just shy of 40mm?

I believe the Daytona is a 39mm case.

yea but rolex advertises it as a 40mm but its not uless they measure the lugs that go around the start/stop pushers

well i acquired a daytona over the weekend but being use to a gmt it seemed smaller. so it appears it is smaller. ill have to get some calipers

There was another post where someone posted a link to a table of Rolex watch sizes as measured by a jeweler... cannot find it right now though.

I never measured it but it does appear to be less than 40mm accross. I think we should all ask for refunds since our Daytonas don't measure up, lol. They will give us msrp and we take a loss, lol. Jokes aside, the watch does wear a bit small.

Off topic but I believe i shaved 1mm off the case lugs of my Submariner Date over the weekend while scuba diving... in a small emergency i had to use my watch to rap on my air tank to get the attention of another diver to prevent him from stumbling into a poisonous stone fish.

Abalone harvesting is largely illegal without permits and so on and so forth.
Most diving is recreational and non-interventional, meaning that the activity is largely passive interaction with marine life.
