sd43 landed: two 50th Anniversary models ! 2017 126600 vs 2003 16610LV

my sd43 landed in NJ yesterday June 15th, I thought it would be fun time to compare 50th Anniversary models ! 2017 126600 vs 2003 16610LV.

The evolution is real in every aspect there has been so serious improvements !
the semi matt dial on the sd50 is truly awesome, and comfortable: despite having a true wrist presence it wears very well, proportions are perfect.
enjoy the pics!

PS:to mention the discontinued 2016 seadweller, there was a 116600 when I picked up sd50, but it looks really, really bare and simple, nearly homely....proportions were top heavy too, despite feeling narrow (imho)
the sd50 is a complete home run !

Great pair.
Tapered lugs, that's the way things are going to go.

yes, and actually, in a way this SD50 vs the old 1680 red sub, reminds me of the Porsche 911 phenomenon:

a new 911 still 'looks' like a typical 911, but in reality everything is different and modernized from the old ones, but it's an EVOLUTION of the original design.

Such a beautiful beast. Rolex have hot hard with the SD50. I was stunned myself and had to take it home.

Both anniversary pieces look great on your wrist. Wear them in good health.
