M or V serial, what would you do?
Hi,
A couple of weeks ago I ordered a blue TT Sub saying that I would really like a V serial number. With the change of model coming up in the near future the V serial might be the last for the TT Sub. This morning my AD telephoned to say that my watch had arrived but it was M series. I was a little disappointed so she will contact Rolex to see if she can get me a V serial instead. Would you wait to try and get a V serial or would you spend your money now and buy the M? What ever happens, the M serial watch will go into the AD safe so there should be no chance of it having grubby fingers on it if I eventually buy it!! Regards, PeterT |

As long as there is no delta in price, wait to see if a V pops up if that's what you really want. Life is too short to settle, especially when you're spending that kind of cash.

If the price is the same, worth waiting for 'V' IMO.

If you want a "v" get one. You'll end up kicking yourself, don't settle for second best!

Dont make any difference they are both the same watches just that the case might have been stamped sooner or later.Would seriously doubt in future if any serial TT sub will be any more valuable than any other.

I vote for waiting.
To me it didn't matter, but I would have waited if it concerned me.

I should know by the end of Wednesday whether a V serial can be easily located.
I can wait until then. At least there is a brand new untouched M Serial in the safe. I took my 2 sons into Stratford today for a look round and we went for a look at the Rolex dealers window (Neither know about my purchase at the moment). No. 1 son liked the blue TT Sub better than the black TT Sub and he is a confirmed watchoholic. No.2 son who is 8 years old knows very little about watches and so I asked which Rollie did he prefer from all on display. After careful consideration he chose the blue TT sub. I felt pleased as it is nice if other family members like what you have bought. If only the V serial had come into the shop I could be wearing it now. I am a patient person but Wednesday seems a long way awaay!! PeterT |

Peter,
I tried on a white Explorer II last week. The price was good but it was a mid 'Z'. If it had been a 'V' I would be wearing it.

I passed on a black M Daytona at an AD this morning. If it was a white V I would be wearing it.

It may not be relevant but if it is what YOU want then stick to your guns.
I want a nice salesperson. JJ wants a deep discount.* You want a V. Stick to your guns! NEVER SETTLE! * - by deep discount I mean deep cleavage.

It's clear that both "M" and "V" are going to be produced for the next year or so concurrently.......I'm not sure why you would feel the need for one over the other.. But in the end, it will be the one you choose to wear.

I know from a watch point of view there will be no difference between an M or a V serial. With the new Sub coming, the V serial might be the last for the TT Blue Sub.

Really - what does it matter? If you are going to wear it, whether it's a V or M - it won't affect any resale value.

I think Peter like V serial which may have less number of the bluesy made and makes it more collectable.
I would be willing to pay a little bit more for a V serial SeaDweller

The V series has a lighter dial from what I have seen. The older ones have a darker blue which I like very much. The M series has the haute text and the darker blue -- well they are actually in combinations.
Find the one you want!

how about the Z? I think my F series bluesy has nicer looking blue than that of the Z? maybe dial color can be different even within the same production series.
