GMT II Pepsi Bezel Insert

Hey gang,

does anybody know where I might be able to pick up a pepsi bezel insert. I bought a black one from my local AD but they would only sell me one. Ive asked a few other AD's and none say they can get them. I guess I could buy another watch, then I bet a bezel would show up quick. Anyway, thanks advance for any info.

Trust me go genuine. It might take time to find an AD who will help but it is worth it.

I bought a bezel insert from the mentioned store and had to do quite a bit of modifying to make it fit.In the end I trashed it.

well he said he'll call me on monday with the exact cost and i'll probably look to get it done while it's getting a service in a month or so... (it's a late 03 model so could do with having a little TLC levied on it...)

Bah, you don't need a service. Don't waste your money. I'm of the thought "If it ain't broke, don't fix it." There are others here as well that have this idea also. I've seen a few Rolex watches go over 10 yrs without a service and not miss a beat I think Ed will back this up.

That's my philosophy, Paul. My oldest is a 1983 TT DJ which I doubt has ever been serviced. It keeps just as good time as my newest, the GMT. You don't mess with success, IMHO.

it's good to hear that the service isn't 100% necessary just yet - having said that i'm looking to have the bracelet and case refurbed too - all that daily wear is taking it's toll (and the refurb is a by product of the service)

mind you i might try and have a deal with tardis for his 2005 GMTII and then flip my 03 one..

spoke tp the dealer yesterday - the confirmed price for the bezel insert change is only £26.50 and takes a couple of weeks.

Jeremy - it's not that I don't want the black bezel anymore - just that i fancy a change (or at least i'm thinking about it) tho would only want the black/red if i was to change at all.

No worries Jeremy - for a crazy second i'd thought about keeping mine and buying Tardis's one.. but funds are a bit too tight for that right now. (another reason for the change would be that at some point i'm likely to get either a Sub Date or SD and would want the GMT to look a little different from it.

Re: the bezel insert costs.
£26.50 is about $50 USD

are you sure that's just the insert? because they can also change the whole bezel which in the UK was quoted at approx £105 GBP
