White gold or stainless zenith based Daytona
Hello all,
I'm stretching my budget but would love some general advice in making a decision about my first Rolex. Without discussing price which I believe is prohibited Here I have always loved the zenith based stainless steel white face Daytona. I am strictly look at lower end price wise and under $15k. Lately I haven't seen many stainless in that range. Today I found a really nice white gold zenith based Daytona with Rolex leather strap and deployant clasp from a local antique dealer in excellent condition at less than . I do still prefer the brushed lugs of the Daytona but this was a really nice piece and priced lower Han most stainless models. My main question is whether from desirability and safe investment standpoint is the stin gold Daytona. I'd appreciate your thurgtebb |

Didn't think discussing price per-Se wasn't allowed, just noobies asking free appraisals.
If you can find solid gold for price of steel, why not? They're rarer & intrinsicly worth more. |

Leather strap Daytonas don't see appreciation at the same levels that bracelet models do. If that's not a concern, then the strap Zenith Daytona models do represent a "value" compared to stainless or YG bracelet Zenith Daytonas.

I wish you all the best with your decision but is this really vintage? I feel old if that is the case.

I came close to "stretching the budget" for one of these zeniths until I started reading about the service costs...

I can say that servicing an older el primero was more costly than other movements on a vintage Movado of mine. never thought about that.
