Buying a Rolex of this Forum

I'm looking at buying a Rolex off the FS forum(1st time), how can I make sure what I am buying is legit? In the past I've seen some folks have an eagle eye and spot fakes, are most sellers on this site legit, or is still Buy Beware.

Thanks

It is always buyer beware. Buy the seller, not the watch. Sometimes the scammers break through the front lines but for the most part the sellers on here are scrutinized by the members and the moderators. If you are unsure about what you are buying, feel free to ask us and we will put your mind at ease before you pull the trigger.

OP, great advice from offrdmania. Also, if possible post a link to the watch you're looking at. Good luck with the future purchase.

So I'm assuming a seller w/ 1k+ posts is legit?

Guess you didn't read the previous posts. I'd not rely entirely on just total post count to determine whether a seller is 'legit'

If you want other members to give you feedback on the seller or watch. Post a link.

Don't go by post count.

Go to the "who's who" section and go through the pages. You don't have to read each thread, just look for the titles and the names that come up over and over again.

You will quickly find a pattern and see the guys who have been selling for years and their feedback is perfect.

Contact those guys and then go with the person you feel most comfortable with.

If you want 100% peace of mind, get the watch verified by RSC before purchase. But that pre-supposes that you can meet the buyer face-to-face.

Be very careful when buying online and I won't even go so far as to rely on the members here to spot a fake as that is not foolproof.

Look for the Trusted Sellers here based on feedback and listings. It will not take you long to figure it out. Several have websites to show all of the watches available.

Trusted sellers best option if you do not buy from an AD. David SW, Takuya and Justrolexes to name a few among others
