GMT - 50 Today!

Thought I would just share the celebration of having owned my 1675 GMT as my daily timepiece for fifty years today. I bought it new from Watches of Switzerland in Liverpool, UK, on 15th September 1967 and, apart from when it has been in for routine servicing, I have worn it every day since. Hope I'm not tempting fate by saying this, but it still keeps excellent time (+/- 2 sec per day) and it never feels out of place, whatever the occasion.

Birthday pic attached . . . . .

Stan.

Wow it looks perfect
I love it when someone has a watch for a lifetime , I wish I could just pick the one instead of getting a new one every year

Congratulations wit two things:

a) the watch
b) your age - as your skin does not look at all like you are approx. 70 years old.

Thanks, everyone, for your good wishes. I was 21 when I bought the watch, so obviously I'm 71 now. I suppose my skin is just average for my age - like the proverbial curate's egg, it's good in parts!

Thanks again . . . .

Stan.

Do you get it polished at service time? Are all the parts original?

I think it looks amazing. I hope to make a thread like this 50 years from now with my GMT.
