36mm surprisingly getting more wrist time.

I got this watch 5 years ago or so, I wore it maybe 2-3 times before I gave to the old lady and put a diamond bezel on it. Well the other day I took the diamond bezel off and I have been wearing it around and I LOVE the fit and feel of the old president bracelet and the 36mm really feels more comfortable than my submariner or my sea dweller.

I got an offer yesterday for around 8-9k and I don't think I can sell it now. I just hope the bracelet can handle some abuse.

Does anyone know if I replace the 2 main pins that it will do anything to strengthen the bracelet? IMG_3944.JPG

36mm is optimal for the dressier references. The II's and the 40/41's just don't look as good.

You don't think the 40/41 look as good? I would assume this day and age that if people had the choice they would take the 40/41 every time over the 36

Love a 36mm watch. Especially a 36mm day-date

I do not think they do. In person, the proportions are wrong, especially the bezels, which are just too big whether in fluted or smooth.

It is personal taste. I also have a 36mm DD and just love it! As far as your question; it depends on the condition of the whole bracelet; just changing the two pins might or might not help; sorry.

One thing is for sure: it will last a L O N G time.

What do you mean??? That it will last a long time in general? Or if I replace pins?

My band is def not brand new but I've been told it has plenty of life left in it, it's a 1980!!! It's almost 40 years old

I'm no expert, but everything I have read here on TRF points towards a dirty bracelet as being the main reason it stretches.

Keep it clean and it will last!

I agree 100%. The 41mm DJs are verging on gaudy, in my opinion. 36mm is classic, classy, and perfect.

Love the 36mm size, Rolex still sells them for a reason. They got it right the first time!

I think that is a beautiful watch. And, I believe the 36mm Day-Date was, and still is, in the dial color you have, the only one with matching day and date display backgrounds.
The 36mm is perfect. Even though I have a fairly large 7.25in wrist, my favourite watch is the OP34mm. Not that I don't like the larger models as well.

I can’t answer OP’s questions but I would be in no hurry to part with that DD. It’s a beauty.

My 36mm DJ is perfect for me size wise with a 7” wrist. I’m not interested in “upgrading” size wise to a 41 (my 41mm Tudor BBB is just about as big as I can wear). I hope to get a BLNR or a 40mm Explorer II but for the DJ or DD 36 is the size as far as I’m concerned.

The DJ 41 is indeed 39,5mm

36mm DJ’s and DD’s are perfect and elegant. Big is not always best.

If you are concerned about the bracelet pins why not send it to TSC or someone like Rikki for a refurb? When it the last time you had it serviced? Maybe it's due for a tune up anyway?

Nice watch btw, looks good on you

That is a keeper. Nothing wrong with 36 unless you have a really large wrist.
