Sea-Dweller with V!

Seems it is true that there are some 16600s with V.
Rolex carry both lines.
A guy bought the watch at Swiss airport if I remember currectly.

here are some pics that borrowed from him.

They'll never end, they must have sold about 100,000 of the SDs in the last year

Yeah, i know, as of January the stock will be finished, but Rolex have sold thousands upon thousands of these in the last year, they've sold like hot cakes and a lot of people are doing so because they think it'll be a rare model to keep, but with the amount in circulation and the way people look after watches nowadays i can't see that happening for a good few decades yet.

There have been several threads indicating a final release of the SD's is being sent out. It seems very feasible for some serials to be 'V'.

As mentioned before...Show me the watch case not the watch card....Photoshop is a great tool if used well....Take a look at some of Jocke's work.

I am not saying it is doctored and I'm not saying it isnt just that it could be....

What would be the point of Photoshopping a V on a card? Seems like a strange thing to do....

Because it would be very easy to do and cause alarm to those who purchased an M series believing it was the last one

If they purchased as an investment thinking it was the last one out only to find it wasn't.....Gutted like a fish.

Does'nt bother me but imagine if you believed you had the last sheep in the world only to find the bloke in the next field has just purchased one 6 weeks after you....and its just had lambs.

It's not really an investment type watch, SDs have been in production without any change for a while now, tens of thousands of them produced and no transitional model either. With everything Rolex nobody knows what will be the big thing in 30 years time, look at the Milgauss GV, selling well and going for over RRP, but in 30 years time it might be worth half what a white faced milguass does.

Okay, I see the point - makes sense. Personally, I am happy with M....

Are there any examples of highly collectible pieces because of serial number? I know - references, dials, movements etc... but, serial number? I guess there are cases of "high" "low" serial number - do they fetch significantly more money? Just curious...

I'm happy with my 'Z' SD. It's 1 in 26 of the Rolex watches flipped by JJ.
Now that must be a collectors item.
The new SD's will eventually finish and I did expect that there woud be some 'V' models. This happened with the Pepsi GMT as it took a while for the stock to run out, now I'm having problems finding a Pepsi in any of the AD's in Australia.
