Horror Horology On The Blink.
DeWitt Academia Tourbillon Differential Rainbow Spirit
http://forums.timezone.com/index.php...=1849709&rid=0 Blink Blink why would such a very talented watchmaker make such a watch Perhaps to attract the rappers, brain dead footballers etc and oh yes money. The only people who will buy this piece of bling. Are people with very little knowledge what goes on in the case .Its just a piece of show off blink jewelry to them. Why don't watchmakers just stick to making real watches instead of all this blink blink crap.

Perhaps the no doubt highly elevated price is more easily justifiable after sprinkling some glimmers over the case? As you said, most people are ignorant towards fine, handcrafted movements. Even the wealthy. Bust most people recognize ‘ice’. And are willing to fork out big stacks of $$$$$$

The watch is quite beautiful....but a rubber strap on a diamond encrusted watch? What the hell were they thinking? How mismatched is that?

That is one ugly POS. And I agree, how could anyone put a rubber strap on a blinged up thing.

Actually, it is SO ugly that the rubber strap actually adds some class to the thing!

And here's some wonderfully poetic discourse to convince you to buy one of these abominations: "In ancient days, garnets illuminated dark nights and protected their wearer from the forces of evil. They were regarded as a protective stone and employed as a talisman. Later, this stone was widely used at the English royal court and by the Czars of Russia because it is extremely hard and has a very high refraction index, second only to that of a diamond. Jewellers of past centuries therefore venerated this stone which they were able to fashion, cut and polish indefinitely…until it became perfect. Among the rainbow hues of the different varieties, there is one which runs the whole gamut of colours from deep blue-green to sparkling violet-red with all the intermediate nuances. This unusually rare quality is encountered only in small stones. Manufacture DeWitt has taken full advantage of this characteristic by using 357 of these seductive stones to enhance the tricolour case in titanium, red gold and rubber of the Tourbillon Différentiel Academia. The setting itself was an extraordinary feat of technological prowess because titanium is an extremely delicate metal on which to set stones. The outcome is superb. The Tourbillon Différentiel Rainbow Spirit Academia retains the avant-garde character conferred upon it by titanium, rubber and red gold, while the refined gemstone setting endows this timepiece with a remarkable power of seduction." Riiiiiiight...

Don't Patek make one?
I'm sure I've seen a ladies Patek with ice on a rubber strap, in various colours. Like some kind of 'Super-Swatch'!!!
