buying dilemma

hi,

I have 2 watches of which I'm thinking of selling

- WG breitling for bentley on croc strap (i don't wear it because its too big for my taste)
- GMTII with the 3 bezel inserts (i like it but not as much as my sub. and i
always pic-up my sub )

and 2 watches on my wishlist.

- SS white face daytona
- WG cartier tortue

so i was thinking of trading the breitling for the cartier and the gmtII for the daytona

is it worth to sell them and how much can i get for them. what would the price for the daytona be if i want a new one without waiting

Sell both if neither one gets much wrist time.

You definitely can't go wrong with a Daytona. It's a wonderful watch. Good luck on your decision.

how much can i get for my z-serial gmtII

for how much can i find a new daytona with a white face

is it a good idea to part exchange the watches or is it better to sell and buy seperately

p.s. does anyone know anything of the value of the breitling and the price of the cartier,
if not Ill call the cartier boutique tomorrow to ask the price. and maybe a breitling shop to ask how much i can get back.

When I'm selling I gauge the condition vs. age and then check the usual suspects, e-bay, Craig’s list, newturfers and I weigh my motivations. How fast do I want to sell vs. ideal price and then I set my minimums and try to appeal to serious buyers only.

Often when I'm selling Rolex I'll do much better selling outright then trying to orchestrate a trade. To make a trade work you need the perfect partner, but to sell, there are many more buyers in the sea

I've compared many chronos from Cartier, AP, Breitling, Panerai, etc. and the Daytona was too perfect to pass up. Go see it in person and you won't want to leave the store without it!

i have called a cartier and a breitling dealer, the cartier is €16000 and a breitling like mine new would be €18200, i dont know how much i can get back for it. but i think it will be a direct trade in.

but how would the GMTII daytona swap proceed, is it a good GMT selling moment or should i wait a bit

cheers

It seems that aside from 'buying dilemma' you also have the 'deciding dilemma.' I truly understand your dilemma. With due respect, it's your money and you have to decide what you want with your money.

I would suggest that you do your "homework" and decide later what needs to be done regarding pricing of these watches, that you want to sell and acquire.

Good luck.
