New Ceramic Sub VS Current Sub

I know it's depend on personal taste. But in general, which one is more desirable and will become more popular in upcoming future? The new Sub with ceramic bazel or the current Sub with hollow links? Any idea please?

This is a question that cannot possibly be answered..

Once the new ceramic Sub is on the market, there won't be any choice... It's that or nothing.

And I would be willing to bet a box of donuts that Rolex will still sell every Sub that they make..

What it may mean, though, is that the older models will start to be hidden under mattresses, coveted, and only traded in the back room of smoke filled "Rolexium Dens", where quick profit will be made.....many great time-pieces will never again see the light of day..]

A great tragedy, of course.

The Sub will always sell and be great watch. There will always be a demand for the traditional piece.

Well, the new Sub have ceramic bazel and for the TT model, the center gold link is solid and not hollow like current model. Plus maybe the glide lock on the new Sub, which I think is interesting .

Why would anyone prefer hollow links? I can see great opposition to PCLs, but opposition to a more solid bracelet and clasp?

Of course, other than a big cost increase ...

I like my solid link 116200
But the 16200 I had was lighter and I feel, a bit more comfortable for casual wear.

But since none of us have SEEN the new sub (I don't think pics have been released, just photoshop yes?). I'll wait till then and decide. Won't like the price increase though - I'm guessing about 6-7kUSD on grey

I prefer the new Sub case with SCL and current Sub bezel. The ceramic bezel is too shiny for my taste.

I think if they change the sub to much, they will destroy a classic. I don't like the ceramic as much but I understand the direction they are heading. They keep upping their prices and they need to try to offer something that the consumers will think is worth the extra money. They can't complete with some of the higher end brands but they are raising the prices to that level. I really don't understand how people are forking over $10,000 for a SDDS when they can get a Blancpain FF for around the same price, it's not my money so oh well. If the sub does go with the polished center links, then Rolex is a bling watch and they have completely abandoned the whole "tool" line IMHO. PCL's have no business being on the sub, they already made the GMT too shinny.

I like my sub just the way it is. If this watch was more expensive I may not have bought it. PS, not a real fan of ceramic bezels. I don't love the look or the price.

I'm guessing it would be more than $6k if they have the cerachrome bezel and the glide lock. I think the glide lock costs like a grand (in Rolex eyes). I mean if you want the GMT IIc clasp, it is $900!!!!!!

I'm guessing the sub will be $8500!!!!!!!!!!!!

Grab your classic 16610's while they are cheap!!! Remember the price increases on the classic GMT's once they were discontinued?
