Best Bond Movie for Rolex sightings

OK James Bond lovers out there (at least US ones with Comcast ), you've probably noticed that Comcast is offering every James Bond movie on demand at the moment.

I've seen a number of the later Bond movies but not many early ones. My question to those Bond WISs out there is what is the best Bond movie for Rolex sightings?

And just for kicks, what's the best Bond movie?

Live and Let Die was pretty good for viewing! You also get peeks in Dr. No.

I like all the early films, few of the late 70's early 80's, and lately, Casino Royale!

  • Early Rolex Submariner models: Goldfinger and Thunderball
  • Pre-Daytona chronograph: On Her Majesty's Secret Service
  • Rolex 5513 gadget and straight: Live and Let Die
  • Rolex 5513 straight: Live and Let Die
  • Submariner Date: Licence to Kill
Your question read to me more like you were looking for organization and prioritization, as opposed to an exhaustive list. So that's how I answered.

In terms of the "best Bond movie," well, that's obvious; the answer is:

Dell, are you sure about that?

I'm going with what Dell and sbakar pointed out. The Live and Let Die Rolex seemed to steal the show!

From having M deliver it to 007's house repaired by Q. James palm-rockers the piece and turns on the magnet to demonstrate it's special feature.

He also undoes the back zipper of a female's dress with it, a few moments later.

Mr.Big/Doctor Kananga has TeeHee almost rip the clasp/bracelet off 007's wrist in the torture chair. He announces the serial#'s on the caseback and demands that Solitaire answer his question or Bond's finger(s) would be snapped off.

Then later on while tied up over a pool of sharks. Bond uses the bezel rotating saw to cut the twine ropes on his wrist.

Definitely a great viewing of this watch throughout LALD.

Whoops, he also uses the Rolex to try and 'magnetize' a small boat to him, when he's trapped and surrounded by Crocs.

Kick me as I'm a huge Bond fan that use to moderate a Bond Bulletin Board...my all time favourite is..

I like Goldfinger and Thunderball for their close-up shots of the Rolex Sub. I like The Man with the Golden Gun for its close up of the 5513. In fact, it got me so hyped up that I ended up getting a 5513 a couple of weeks after the movie came out, but ended up taking it back and getting a sub date instead.

The link posted by sbakar to the man with the golden gun was cool. I like all things 70s so dug the muscle car at the end -- was that a charger?

Sounds like Live and Let Die might be the best for Rolex viewing. I'm intrigued by the shout-out to Moonraker as best ever...

Took it exactly as you meant it; thought you were ribbing me. But thanks for caring!
