Speaking of Diamonds and Sky Dwellers

Saw this for a bit over $100K... Do you think Rolex will follow suit?

It would defunct the fact that command ring is not as operable as a factory fluted one.
Too flashy is just an understatement

Not certain how true the first comment is; the command ring doesn't take much effort to turn. It certainly wouldn't finds its way on to my wrist so I agree with the second statement. But then again Rolex makes many watches I want nothing to do with.

I think a model with some stones is overdue to be honest. If the GMT has been factory done then it should be natural to do this model as well.

Truly; the GMT is pretty much made useless as are Subs with the diamonds. There'd be no loss of functionality with the SkyD.

I like it with the bezel but could do without the bracelet stones.

The bracelet could be used as a weapon.

James Bond could have use the bracelet as diamond cutter if he’s tied to a chair with zip lock.

Not for me but I can see how this can work for someone else. In fact, they can say it is one of a kind. I remain open to the fact that we all have different taste.

Not my cup of tea quite frankly.

I'd take a yellow gold Day Date 40 with baguette number markers any day of the week though.

For some reason it reminds me of the Taj Mahal.

at that point, just get a Datejust and bling it out. it probably doesn't have a destined function use after all the sparkly stuff is added. more than borderline sad.

I can't imagine why a diamond bezel instead of the standard would cause the watch to stop working. I'm certainly not a fan of the treatment this watch received but I'm certain a diamond bezel could be added that is turnable, the same as is added to the GMTII or Subs.

I'm sure it's functional from a technical standpoint, but to me, someone who would do that to that particular model, would not be utilizing it as a tool that it was destined for...not that any of us ever dive 1000 feet anyway with the things we wear.

Just buy a gold/gem bracelet from Cartier and call it a day.

Just a toolwatch for daily wear, job interviews etc. Nothing strange. Little blingy that’s all.

Where did you find this image?

A lot of jewelers have been "flooding" skyD. I don't think this picture is from rolex.

Does this really need a comment? Clearly I wouldn't say, "Do you think Rolex will follow suit?" if it were from Rolex.

At any rate I can't find the original site now. Here's one that was sold.

PS. Here's the site it was selling on...

Great exercise in diamond setting technique, but not for me.

It actually looks quite nice for what it is in my opinion, the setting seems well done.
