Spotted - SS Skydweller Waikiki

Black dial. At the AD on Kalakaua Ave in Waikiki. Priced at MSRP plus 4.75% tax. I wasn’t really interested, and I thought it looked too big on me. Not interested in flipping. The guy working said they usually don’t make it to the display case. He was excited that I noticed and knew what it was. I expect it will be gone soon.

Pretty slim pickings for SS otherwise. Two black Explorer IIs looked to be about it other than the usual DJs and OPs.

Might’ve been a blessing in disguise. I was pretty underwhelmed by the watch. It felt huge and thick and uncomfortable. A fluted bezel that big would take some
Getting used to. Probably the perfect watch for lots of people, but not for me.

I was may more stoked on the Explorer II. Really loved the steel bezel in my hands. If they had a polar, I might have tried to negotiate for a price I was willing to pay.

The store is shutting down and moving across the street to the international marketplace. They may be willing to negotiate on what they have left in stock.

That was me. You almost beat me to it if I had continued with my drinking on a Sunday night. I was there an hour later and picked it up.

And some people say the demand/waitlist situation is worse for a SkyD than a Daytona. Ok, who has ever seen a DayC sitting in a window at MSRP? Uh huh. That’s what I thought.

Congrats to the buyer!

Congrats Tom808. Once I read this thread last night I emailed my contact at that store inquiring about it and he said it was sold. Glad you got it. I will have to continue to enjoy my white dial SS Sky-dweller. Always wanted a black dial.

I think they just wanted to sell off their inventory as soon as they got them in since they are closing in a few days. The new Rolex store is going to be operated by Baron & Leeds and will be at the Intl Market Place.

Ah, I see. Moving a watch across the street doesn't seem to warrant a "fire sale" but being owned by a different company is a different story.
