This is getting silly

Spotted today at my local non authorised jeweller in the Midlands, UK...

It’s getting out of hand, £8500 for a 2018 Ceramic Date Submariner

Sounds more like someone over valuing their stock. Doesn't mean it will sell.

What?!!! 8500 quid for a used Sub when I know someone who bought a BLNR for 5950 from Harrod’s before they corrected prices for Brexit. This is plain robbery!!!

Wow, sadly I bet it will sell quickly. Stop by next week and see if it is still there.

Has pricing really gotten that out of hand in the UK that it will sell at that price?

This is high but prices have been heading up consistently since Brexit so £9K will be next as supply will not improve this year.

I was going to say that's nothing compared to the prices in Australia then I did the conversion... Wow!

For comparison the worst I've seen here is a new blnr for $17k aud (about 9200 pounds)

Crazy ain't it! Didn't seem too long ago when the Submariner was a 3 grand watch from AD's in the UK. Few more price increases and it won't be long until the Submariner is a 10k watch. Rolex is moving into Pateks old territory in terms of pricing and Omega is now in Rolex's old territory.

12,100 usd for a watch that lists for 8500usd new from an AD! Things in the USA haven't reached this insanity yet!

I’ll pop by next week and check out if it’s still there.

I had my 2017 SubC on my wrist today, I should have walked in and asked for a valuation and ask if he wanted to buy it!

Sadly, as vastly overpriced as it is, I know there will be customers in my area that will want an (as good as) new SubC, will have gone into Goldsmiths next door and been laughed at, so they’ll go there and buy it. They’ll get it at £8k and think they’ve got a deal.

There’s only one SubC Date on Watchfinder less than a year old, and that’s £8415. It’s ridiculous

Wow. I got very lucky. I bought my first Rolex ever at the end of January. I literally just walked into the AD down there street, looked down into the display and pointed at the Sub ND that was sitting next to a bunch of SS Rolex watches. I must have got mine just before the madness started. They even showed me (a first time person in the store) a SS Sky Dweller, a SD 43, Sub with Date, GMT and a couple Explorer II's. Life moves fast I guess.
I went to the same AD last week to look around. The display case is bare. Unless you want a DateJust or a PM watch you are out of luck around here.

Crazy price considering 4 weeks ago both the sub and sub non-date were sitting available in my ad at £5450 and £6250. They ain't that hard to buy.
