Saw this at costco today...

Looks like even costco, knows the value of these watches... What is MSRP price on this one?

The blingy bling to the chintzy chintz.

Rolex really is a Costco type brand.

[insert Costco parking lot wrist shot.]

How does this work. Do they buy grey market and resell? Is this legal? It’s one thing if a little mom and pop does this vs a massively big company.

Don’t they only take 15% on everything. Also heard their return policy is ridiculous. Can buy a watch and if anything goes wrong just take it back for a 100% refund lmao

Yes, grey market watches, most likely many that are slower movers. Sure they can sell them, legal as long as they don't claim to be an authorized dealer.

I still dispute this, they wouldn't take back an unused pearl necklace of my sister's for £300 without getting the manager involved and some hassle, so I suspect they will come up with some jargon to refuse a return, esp if not pristine. I would need a written guarantee on the watch in question before buying, store policy is too vague.

Why in the world would anyone think this is illegal?

A gazillion different sources can sell you a preowned Rolex, but Costco can't?

Since this is Costco would this watch be brand new or is it preowned?

My Costco where I live also sells Rolex, Cartier, and Patek

Exactly. I think it's great.

I saw a Platinum Daytona with the ice blue dial (my ultimate Rolex grail watch) priced at approx $10K below retail, at $65K, at Costco, about a year ago.

I had the chance to try that watch on about 3 years ago. So stunning.

Dunno man, Costco has had some great diamonds, rare whisky, and other killer items. Don't confuse Costco with Walmart or Sam's Club.

Why not? I'd get Chase Ultimate Rewards points I could use on flights/vacations at 2x their cash value.

Exactly. Costco is the only place I know of where you can buy your water and toilet paper in bulk and also find a legit engagement ring or high end watch.
It's most definitely not Sam's club. Those of us who grew up in California are well aware of that.

Yeah. I’ve only seen Datejusts at mine. SS and TT jubilee. Also some Lady DJs. The only semi-popular watch I’ve seen was a blue GV that sold within my next visit. They had it for $6800 which was a pretty good price. Usually that’s the sort of price you can only get online from a grey.

As far as other brands, some under $10k steel JLCs, Omegas and Breitlings. No Navitimer though.

Somebody posted a YG blue Sub at a Costco in California, so sometimes higher priced desirable pieces do show up. Only thing I ever seen were some DJ's at mine.

Costco is a huge company. Do they have a department with a staff calling Rolex dealers to buy slow turn inventory to resell? How long does that 35,000 Rolex sit there befor they sell it. Kind of a waste of time for them. I assume they don’t care if it sits there forever as 35,000 is a cheap marketing expense to show everyone who walks in the store they are higher positioned in the market since they sell Rolex.
