Submariner 114060 vs 116660
Guys, what do you think-
Sub 114060 or 116660 deepsea blue/black dial? I am having the 114060 now, and i will add a polar in june. I'm a bit bitten by the 116660 quite a bit although my rational says me don't do it!!! and go for the polar + sub, otherwise i have to trade my sub+cash, which leaves me with a 116660 as a everyday watch What do you guys think? By the way, my wrist is just 6.5 inch but the polar seems a perfect fit on it... |

I have the same wrist size and the 114060 fits nicely, but no more than that. 40 is max for me, I can even go down to DJ36.

Personally I would keep your sub and add a polar. Also with a 6.5 inch wrist I would stay roughly 40mm.

Deep in my soul i know this is the best descission. I just felt in love with that gigantic beast of a watch
But on the other hand a sub is quite similar and a polar is very diverse so it makes a perfect duo to have something for each day.. My wrist size seems to be perfect for the 42mm polar , i walked in a AD with in my head that it was to large and i walked out with the idea that it is just PERFECT...
. I also like the 42 polar MUCH much MUCH more than the old style exp.2 that watch just doesn t work for me at all.. So if i had to choose between an old exp.2 or another watch, a GMT or hulk or so i would go for that for sure. The new polar just feels like a perfect watch

I would add the Polar Explorer II and have a nice two watch lineup. The ND Submariner maybe my favorite Submariner of all time.

I’ve owned the Dblue and the 114060 at the same time. I can state that they are in no way similar to each other in terms of how the wear and feel on the wrist. 7” wrist btw.
The DBlue has the best dial in the Rolex catalogue IMO, and of course the over engineered nature of the watch makes it a standout. I truly love everything about it for what it is but it was never a watch I’d consider a daily wearer. If you’re looking for a comfortable, daily wearing, do anything kind of watch, the 114060 is my pick hands down. Adding the polar would just be icing on the cake. Now, if you can add the Dblue and wear as a weekend watch ... I wholeheartedly support you |

The 114060 is one of my favorites as is the 116660.I have a 7.5” wrist and both are perfect. If you want the 116660 it’s up to you,if you like it wrist size don’t matter.

Of the 3 watches you mention, the D-Blue is my favorite but not for everyone as a daily. If you're comfortable with it, that's the way to go. Either way, try to add one. It's a special watch if you ask me.

Dblue is like no other and with a flat wrist, it will be amazing! Go for it dude or it will haunt you to no end. Lol You could always add the polar 2 later and would make a nice companion watch.

Sub+Polar all day long. That's a really great pair. The DSSD is a honker of a piece, yes it is awesome, but you run (in my HO) the risk of growing weary of such a piece as a one an only.

Sub + Polar vote here. I have a similar sized wrist, and DSSD is way too heavy and big for me. I also own both Sub + Polar, and the Polar feels great on my wrist! Good luck.

114060 for sure. Which Polar? 16570 or 216570?

I rotate a Huly and a 42mm Polar. I think they are sufficiently different to be justified, yet sufficient similar in a number of ways.

I love the DSSD. Not sure how the DSSD fits your wrist size but usually it can be too large.
Unless you are a 100% sure of the DSSD's fit on your wrist, I would stay with the Sub + Exp. |

Anyone a idea if the DSSD fits larger than a 44mm yachtmaster as in lug to lug size? I fitted a 44.mm YM and it was still doable on my wrist, now it is also a plus that i have pretty muscular underarms and upper arms...… I do train a lot very heavy, but yes to large is to large, not Always very important maybe but for a anyday…. Maybe and i think yes.. the sub-C fits perfect, and more appealing than a larger watch however the exp.2 looked just PERFECT

Try on the Deepsea to get a sense, but I feel it's the ultimate tool watch. Which means on the flip side, too big for most of us. Now if you actually dive, have the built and arm then by all means, but otherwise the Sub is plenty tool for everyday.

If feasible, you should try on the 116660 first before deciding. At 44mm it is a great deal larger than a 114060 in every respect. It is also heavier. It may look akward on a 6.5 inch circumference wrist and if it doesn't it is likely to feel uncomfortable and clumsy to wear.

IMO, you should get the Sub and Polar Explorer. If you’re Paul Bunyan, I “may” consider the DSSD. But, I personally think that thick watches do not look good on peoples’ wrists. Too bulky/ bulby. Very inelegant and awkward. NOT a real timeless, contoured classic look. Even when I see a Panerai on Stallone and Staitham, I kind of cringe. But a lot of people like thick watches...YMMV.
