Speedmaster Professional “TinTin” next Paul Newman Daytona??
Revolution watch thinks so...
https://www.revolution.watch/could-t...ewman-daytona/ Sounds like a pretty rare watch with a unique backstory. I’ll have one soon |

a bit of a stretch, i reckon. but it's still a nice watch and can still be had at decent prices now. perhaps we'll see prices go up as result of the article.

It's a stretch I believe. The 69 racing dial is closer to a Newman and the Japan 3570.40 is the modern equivalent. https://www.fratellowatches.com/spee...ng-145-022-68/

In terms of production, I've spotted plenty of NOS Tintin in Asia last year. Now no more. Not too sure whether Omega produced more 3570.40 (2004pcs) or Tintin. However shall I quote the thread on other forum: "EDIT: In May 2017, In a discussion I had with Jean-Claude Monachon, VP of Omega Product Development, he suggested there were about 3000 made (he did not know the precise figure off the top of his head)..." https://omegaforums.net/threads/spee...thering.33387/ |

I like Omega Speedmasters but that model does nothing for me.

I think the one actually worn by Tintin when he walked on the moon can reach the auctioned value of Paul Newman's real Daytona. Com'on! it's the real thing!
More seriously.. I just love that watch. I was fortunate to find it at an AD in Hong Kong a few months ago, and it's just my all-time favorite speedy. I get more compliments for it than my Submariner. |

“I love the Tintin rocket design, so I kind of wanted to bias it towards that," Musk added. "If in doubt, go with Tintin." https://www.space.com/41871-elon-mus...on-legacy.html
The lure for this watch just continues to grow. |

the next to raise prices and revalue more will be the apollo 11 45th anniversary, with the celebration of the 50th anniversary of Apollo 11 and the man on the Moon, the prices of these limited editions will shoot up

I bet it’s price will reach the moon like the tintin rocket.
But I will keep it... |

Many love the dial. It’s the same type of response early Daytona’s had. Where the dial was “exotic”.
A good summary from the Omega Forums Quote:

The same was said about Snoopy as it sat around for years in the $12-$13k range. There are less TinTin’s than the Snoopy. Snoopy now regularly commands $22k+. This won’t be any different at minimum.

The hype around the Daytona would be very hard for a Tin Tin to achieve.

I didn’t like it at $4000 a couple years ago, I’m certainly not going to like it at 8 or more.
I’d go with the Japan dial above. If it had a sapphire crystal, maybe. Good luck with the investment speculation. It will never be a Newman, primarily because TinTin ain’t Paul Newman by a long stretch.
