So today is my mom's b-day (exp1 related)
her being the WIS she is (the reason I am one too) I wanted to get her a watch at first, but there was really nothing much in my price range that I could add to her collection that is worthy. So I did the next best thing for the price of a very nice Tag or Omega I got 3 of her favourites serviced (sent them in a couple of weeks ago) one of her Chopards needed a new movement which we were lucky to get sent here in time for today. Its funny how to us here paying insane amounts of money for servicing is just part of ownership, to others we belong in some institution
While I was waiting for the watchmaker I decided to set up camp at the Rolex display, I tried on the SS/Plat YM, the TT YM, a TT DJ and then finally they brought something from the back that they knew would interest me, the mighty 114270. They told me that they dont get one every month and its hard to keep in stock ( we only have 4 ADs in the greater Toronto area) but this one just came in. I put it on and it really felt like it belonged on my wrist. Every time I try on this watch I feel like it should go home with me, but unfortunately 2 new Rolexes and 1 new Omega for this year is enough. Having all the watches I want and living in a box just wont do it for me In time she will be mine oh yes she will (yes I refer to my cars and watches as hers and shes LOL ). My mom agrees with me that its simplicity is what makes it so appealing (this coming from a woman that likes her time pieces iced out for bling) a true timeless classic. So I gave the mighty 3 6 9 beauty back and the saleman knew that it would only be a matter of time before I come back for it. Maybe I will win the lottery this week and be able to go back for her this year. |

Wish your Mom a Happy Birthday from me, too, Roger. And remember, all good things come to he who waits. It's just a matter of time, boyo.

Thanks guys. But don't be too nice to her, she doesnt like Rolexes. LOL She says the womens models are too plain and the Pearlmaster line is too bling (I guess there really is no pleasing women)
