SD 43.. I’m on the waiting list.... but???
But... I’m interested on hearing from you guys. What do you think about this “stupid” “crazy” market adjustment that people are marking up on this used ones being sold.
I really want one... really bad... but I refuse to pay 💰 those crazy prices... so I will wait... as long as I have to, I don’t care, but I am starting to see more off them available. You think that the hype is over? |

Most ADs in unsaturated markets can get the SD43 within a month or two max. Don't pay grey prices. It's not in that high of demand unless you live in NYC, LA or similar.
The hype is over. However, not everyone has received the memo. |

I agree. I’m in Jersey and the wait is not bad, they told me 4 to 8 weeks.

David SW has one right now for $12K which in my area at least is nearly identical to what you would pay at an AD with sales tax. So prices have settled a bit

David has one on sale for 12.6k, but if you can wait just throw your name on a wait list at an AD. https://davidsw.com/product/rolex-12...anniversary-8/ |

If you’re on a list... You will hear from the AD soon. Bought one last month and was offered two last month in the DMV

The wait in LA isn't that good. I've been number 3 at one AD for months, haven't moved up any. That's the best one for me. Some places have super high lists and some have said for the SD they reserve those for high spending clients only. I'm waiting with u as most out of state ADs won't ship to me.

Don't pay a premium for this reference as it isn't hard to obtain from AD.
While a WIS darling, the SD43 is falling victim to the same apathy from the general public that the previous model did and with the the Pepsi release, it's kind of getting lost in the shuffle a bit. At that price point, it is more like likely the average consumer would look at fluted DJ or go up to a 2 tone reference. It's tough to be almost $3K MORE than a SS Sub C and not look much different in the eyes of John Q Public. For that reason you might even find some in the display case. If not expect a wait of less than a month as while the supply is still limited, the demand is just not as great. |

After 1 year on the list, I emailed the AD about lead times & was told another 1-2 years.
I emailed back stating my intention to spread out further in pursuit of a 43mm Sea Dweller - One week later I received the call saying they had it in. Had to complete within 24h and have warranty withheld for 12 months .. which was no deal breaker. |

Oops, had a few beers before that post. I paid about a $700 premium from David about six months ago for a stickered SD43. They are a little easier to get now but will still require some effort. In my case I had a trade so the $700 was a no brainer. My only regret is waiting so long to pull the trigger. Play the list game with a bunch of AD's and hopefully one becomes available. If you get tired of the wait give David a holler. It's a truly special watch IMO.

At least the premium isn’t insane from gray dealers on this one. If you want it now, I’d give DSW a call.

I own the SD43 and for me it was somewhat of a grail watch. I always wanted a larger Rolex Diver and after owning the DSSD several times I found it to be somewhat top heavy and not proportional to the bracelet. So the SD43 is introduced and it was love at first sight and I bought it from DavidSW without seeing it in person. I paid a few hundred dollars more than I would of paid my AD at full price and tax. It was worth it. I have had the watch for over a year and for me it really works. I get the whole I will not pay over retail discussion and typically I would not but times have changed. Unless you luck up and find one of the more sought after pieces at an AD or are a big spender at the AD then you will wait. Figure what you tax would be from your AD, as I assume they will not discount, and see what one of the TS will do and I bet you will be close on price. Get your watch and stop waiting.

I have been waiting 2 years now for the SD43 price to get back down to MSRP or below. If you figure you pay tax on a purchase at a AD its almost down to that price at the Greys now but its a used version for that price. If it were me I would just get my name into multiple AD lists and it shouldnt be long by the sound of it. Should be one more year with another got to have at next Basel and we should be seeing the used SD43 below MSRP at the Greys IMO.

The hype is not over. But I will not pay over MSRP for any modern still produced watch. I feel I am being taken advantage of. There are quite a bit popping up all over so perhaps a different AD is in order.
Be patient, you will enjoy the watch so much more buying at retail. |

I've got enough to wear as is, so I refuse to pay any premium... though maybe I'm spoiled by my ADs. Not always #1, but not told I'll wait years either. Pethaps my view would be different if I was. |

I held one in my hands a few months ago at a smaller market AD, wasn't looking for one but it was available for sale that day. My main AD says they get at least one a month so a wait there if any wouldn't be long.

I’d get one while you can in case “the hype” reignites! If I sold mine then I just know at next years Baselworld they would discontinue the red text or something and the prices would rocket! I would still struggle to let it go though!

4-6 weeks? Even a couple of months? Now maybe the AD’s I know aren’t good or are just fobbing me off but I’ve never really know of an average waiting list being that short for this piece.
