Grail Help Needed!

Hey TRF,
About to place my order for my grail piece (YG Day Date 40). I am sure I want the champagne dial. My debate is around whether to get the stick dial or romans. My original thought was to go for the sticks in order to get the lumes but am now a little torn as the romans looked great when I tried on. Any input would be appreciated. Thanks.

Go with your first choice. It's usually the right one.

That's easy to say for me because I can't stand romans. I feel like they throw off the symmetry of the dial so badly

While I’m a fan of Roman’s, I don’t personally care for the delivery on the DD. I say the sticks are timeless and will serve well for many, many years to come.

I also predict that by the time this thread has matured you will have a nearly even 50/50 split vote. Go with your 1st instinct

Romans but the champagne dials are hard to read. Maybe consider silver or black.

Stick for champagne dial. Roman numerals for white dial. IMHO, I found that the Roman numerals in DD 40 are hard to read, example white gold with blue dial etc.

Go for the romans, the way they are finished really compliments the fluted bezel.

PS. I don't know about others but I rarely need the lume plus the lume on non-sports models aren't that spectacular anyway

I am looking into this as well.. I have not yet had the chance to try on the Roman dial. The stick dial looks more balanced and more readable to me, but the romans may look nice when the light hits the angles. I have to try one on. Here’s a quick wristshot from the AD.

I prefer the Roman Numerals as they look modern in a good way.

The deconstructed romans are pure magic with the fluted bezel. I guess the sticks are more practical and probably more legible, but hey...this is a grail, after all.
