GMT hand readability on BLNR vs LN

Im getting older and visibility is becoming an issue. I turned down a BLNR but back on the list as I was unsure which GMT hand is easier to see, the blue on the BLNR or the green on the LN? Has anyone in the over 50 club had both and which did you find easier to read both with and without your glasses? I will be using the feature so it is somewhat important to me. Thanks in advance!

I had a BLNR and switched to an LN. The main reason was aesthetics, but legibility was a factor.

I have a red hand LN and love it. Highly readable. Of course, mine is 15 years old.

I find the green hand a bit easier to pick up than the blue. I'm in the same camp as Snow-Dweller and prefer the overall aesthetics of the LN.

The most readable of all would be a white or rose gold hand from the WG BLRO or CHNR. The GMT hands on those read as easily as the main hands.

I own both. The contrast between the dial and 24 hr hand on the BLNR is somewhat better than the LN.

Hmm, rockrolex made me think about an older version. Then I thought about a Tudor and their hand is red. But, no cyclops. Crap, I hate paying so much money for an older watch that will be a daily wearer so not sure what to do. Thanks for the advice so far from those that own both.

No experience of the LN but owned a BLNR for just over 12 months and I found the blue 24hr/GMT hand lovely and clear on sunny days but somewhat elusive when not sunny. I’ve heard this from others too. Perhaps not an issue where you live, but here in the UK somewhat disappointing.

Hope this perspective helps and good luck in your decision making.

Blue, green, red, gold - they all have that big old arrow at the end. Nobody should have any trouble finding that.

The Explorer II is probably a lot more readable than both of them.

If you don’t need the movable bezel, I’d suggest looking at the explorer 2 white dial. One of the most legible Rolex dials IMO

I have the BLNR and like everything about it. As far as the GMT hand blending in some with the dial, there is no doubt that it does a little. Regarding the GMT hand I’ve learned to look for the arrow on the tip of the GMT hand first and once you do that it becomes very easy to spot/see at a glance.

I hate to say it because I don't like the Explorer 2. But for pure legibility along with your presbyopia its probably the best option.
