Rolex Sponsorship

Rolex's biggest sponsored event in Australia is about to start (December 26), the Rolex Sydney to Hobart Yacht Race. It is televised for about 3 days, and it's the only time I have ever seen adds on tv for Rolex in Australia.

Do you get any coverage where you are? The Jonnie Walker golf classic also starts in Western Australia shortly, which is also partly sponsored by Rolex.

Not sure if they do any other sponsorships down under, maybe the Australian Open tennis.

Can't remember seeing a TV commercial over here but can think of some events they sponsor which get TV time.

It would be interesting to see how many Yachtmaster IIs would be at the event.

The winning captain of the Sydney to Hobart Yacht Race, being presented with the cup and a brand new Rolex (looks like maybe the new white gold YachtMaster?), by the general manager of Rolex Australia.

This yacht has won the race for the last 4 years in a row. ''Wild Oats''

I wonder if they gave all the crew a brand new Rolex? (doubt it)

Yup, they sponsor the Australian Open:

At least that was this year - last year it was Rado.

I can already hear JJ spitting chips.

You shall see a lot more ads this coming year...gone.. is the..imperial attitude
of WE ARE invisible, now they agree (silently-God forbid to admit to an official lower price)
to discounts, increase ads for market share, use of strong arm tactics to eliminate Breitling
from associated stores, bring in a high finance guy/trouble shooter etc...
They need Australia as their market share there is almost nil in comparison to little Greece.
USA they have a strong hold as well as in Italy, although there 25% off retail is a daily routine.

They need to develop a few new adds too. They have run the same add in Australia for the last few years.
