Caliber 4030 or Caliber 4130
I'm a little torn. I'm looking for a SS Daytona but can't decide whether to go with the Caliber 4030 (Zenith movement) or Caliber 4130 (current model). I prefer the the pre-2000 (Zenith) look with the more prominent dials)love those dials) but like the in house caliber 4130 movement. can't decide. If they can only change the darn dials on the 4130 movements back to black to make it more prominent, it would be perfect. Please give me your $.02. Please post pics if you got them to show what I'm talking about. thanks. Sorry I don't know how to post pics yet.

I have both
The Zenith 4030 is more asthetic, not that you can see it and you can actually feel the rotor moving.
The 4130 is just a technical marvel, with the parachrom hairspring and the 72hr power reserve makes it a very useful watches . With respect to dials the Zenith Daytona's have that certain indescribable magic. My M116520 My Zenith W16520 Enjoy

Both are great. I happen to like the Zenith mov't and they are more collectible. The prices have fallen for the Zenith models so now may be a good time to grab one.
I walked into an AD last week and they had two pre-owned SS Zenith Daytona's in the display case. On was 10.7k with SEL (A series) and on was 9.7 k without SEL (U series I think). Good luck! |

With cover off the 4030 is more to meet the eyes than the 4130. 4030 is more expensive when come to repair.
Not really big fan of Zenith Daytona based on few other things so 4130 for me. |
