Sell my 116613 for a Tudor S&G?
I had a 16618ln several years ago but sold it to DavidSW after only owning it for a few months, it was just too much gold for me to wear everyday.
I recently got the gold bug again so I went the TT route. I bought a 116613ln last week from a trusted seller here on the forum. It's a beautiful piece but for some reason there's been no wow factor to me?? I went to Mall of Millenia in Orlando for back to school shopping this past weekend and made the mistake of going into Mayors. I saw a beautiful Tudor steel and gold. The matte gold is gorgeous! The fit felt good and the case size was good too. Am I crazy to want to sell the 116613 and go with the Tudor? I don't mind the capped gold on the Tudor bracelet because it's matte so I'll never have the gold refinished and from the pic I saw it looks thick enough. The only things I don't like about the Tudor is it has an all SS clasp, the crown looks off. I guess due to the size and not having any crown guards makes it look even bigger and I don't know how I feel about the fake rivets on the side. I guess I need more wrist time to know if those will bother me or not. I can always throw it on a leather strap if they do bother me. I can buy a brand new / factory warranty Tudor S&G for under $4,000. Money is no object with the Sub but other than the name I dont feel the Sub is worth the extra $7,000. I don't have any wrist time with the Tudor to see how it holds up over time. Am I crazy to want to sell the 116613 and go with the Tudor? I know at the end of the day it comes down to me and I guess if I even have to ask myself or the forum this question I already know the answer. I'll give the Sub a few more weeks to see but I'm curious what y'all think? 20180815_111851.jpeg Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk |

If you don’t wear the Sub I think the S&G is a great option to scratch the gold itch more cost effectively and you can put the extra money toward a Rolex you will get more wear out of. No brainer to me. Plus the brushed gold looks awesome. I made the mistake of trying it on too and now it’s high on my list.

Tudor is nice, but the Sub is a Sub!

As a proud owner of an S&G I can say it’s a good choice. Brushed gold is really great and the overall finish of the watch I love.
I can tell you this, Sub to BB is night and day. The finishing on the Sub is superb and in comparison the BB feels hobbled. But on balance I’m not a fan of the blinginess of the Sub, and the price of the S&G makes it all the more enticing. May as well add a wrist shot Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Never never would I sell my Rolex for a Tudor. Tudor is a great watch but as you can see by your own picture the Sub is the better watch.

I’ve been a Rolex man for decades. I recently got my first Tudor (a GMT) and am now starting to question my previous choices.
You should, of course, give the TT Sub a fair shot. But if you still feel happier with the idea of the Tudor then I wouldn’t doubt your gut instinct. As I now know, Tudor make fabulous watches....and there are horses for courses.

I'd keep the sub, that's my vote. Or sell yours, get a 114060 and the s&g Tudor.

I like the Tudor but see it as a stepping stone to the sub which you already have. Keep the sub imho.

I love Tudor and have had three but you be mad to do this deal. The sub is an iconic watch in any colour. Maybe trade it for another Rolex but less flashy.

If the sub isn't providing the wow factor, I would recommend selling the sub and taking your time to find something that really works for you. The Tudor is nice, but if you have concerns about the crown and the rivets I would recommend giving it some time and trying it on several times before deciding

If the black has no wow factor try the TT blue dial which most def does! I mistook the black TT for the SS first time I saw it in an ADs because it got washed out so can understand that it can be too subtle.

I have the S&G and I do prefer the brushed finish vs the polished of the sub, I think the brushed gold looks great. However, I'd never trade a Rolex for its Tudor counterpart though.

I love Tudor but I'm a Rolex man. Buy the Tudor and sell the Rolex, as you want because life is short!

Before you give up on the sub, try a blue dial!
