Rolex Private Event Invite

Has anyone been invited to "The Quest For The Deep Exhibition" put on by Rolex at your AD? I got an invite yesterday when I stopped in for a replacement link. They eluded that there may be some hard to find pieces for sale. Should I make an appearance?

its interesting. They had probably the same exhibit at Rolex HQ in London where i went to a lunch in June. All about dive watches and historical examples of their watches. FWIW @ Rolex they didn't even have any hot watches to even try on let alone buy. They had the basel release demo models, nothing else.

why, are ADs still selling watches these days?

My AD already had that same event, so I guess they're making the tour.

I think I would just go for the experience and to get a bit of history and information on a brand I love. But bring the credit card just in case...

I was curious. The sales guy said they were getting a box of watches that they weren't allowed to open until the day of the event. He wasn't sure what they were sending. I was hoping to get the opportunity to buy a 114060 or BLNR. Maybe I'll enjoy a few free drinks and talk watches with people who won't think I'm weird for being into watches.

Probably so. They hardly had anything when I stopped in yesterday. A few OPs, Yachtmasters, DJs, and a Milgauss.

I got invited to it before! I just don’t see the point of it! It’s not like they won’t be able to sell a blue skyD or a Pepsi and they need to show it off so people would order it!!

My understanding is that they would have SS watches for sale first come, first served.

I didn't, but I was invited by my AD to a private screening of Lady Gaga's new movie, entry and refreshments provided on behalf of Tudor Watch USA.

Always good to show up to these private events to keep yourself on the radar.

The AD I go to (Davidson & Licht) in Walnut Creek, CA (Bay Area) is having their event this evening. I can't make it, but it seems like it would be a cool educational opportunity.
