Hi All,
just looking for some advice before i go ahead on this 116520 Daytona. its a 2011 model and comes its original Rolex box, green leather wallet, manuals and warranty card. seller is looking for £12600 after going back and forward on price and comes with 12 months warranty. should i be looking out for anything or have i missed anything important ? thanks in advance, |

Pics would be nice. Price seems a tad steep to me for a 7 y/o watch.

Who is the seller?
Who is offering the warranty? Who has validated the watch?

The seller is a London based dealer who is also offering the warranty. says on the advert "Having been professionally tested for condition and accuracy, it is deemed to be running perfectly, ready for its new owner" so must of been validated via them

If you trust the seller I would say go for it. I don't think that's a bad price at all.

You can have it authenticated by Rolex for that added assurance. If it's a trusted seller in your area, go for it. To me, it doesn't sound like a bad price. The price is only going up for the SS 116520.

The price is not bad in the current market but the edges of the lugs look to be polished (rounded).

Seems to be a good deal.
Just take a look at the price development the last 10 years of the Daytona. Unless you are planning to sell it within some years I personally think you are good to go! Good luck mate! The watch is just stunning :O |

I don’t think it’s a good deal at all. It’s due a service soon, it’s been heavily polished and I. bought a MINT white dial random series late 2014 for £11500 last week and 100% unpolished.

You are right about the possible service needed but I think you have been very lucky to find that piece because most examples will be more expensive.

That does look polished, and the price is well above what I paid for my 116520 2009 V serial.
For example, here's mine in box from TS bought last January, JUSTROLEXES Tony.... |

I’d go £11500 tops on that particular watch

Don’t make this guy feel bad...market is different currently...about $15k usd is a good price especially if you trust the seller...a 12 month warranty doesn’t mean much with a watch that new...

The watch has obviously been polished and still bears some knock marks on it. Check that it comes with all the links. I'd pass on it or pay a little bit more for a crisper piece or simply wait it out for prices to come down.

It’s polished
It might need service in the next couple of years. Try to include that under the one year warranty you’re getting and price wise, those things keep climbing in price and I’d say if that’s the best price you found around and you trust the seller then go for it

I don't find anything much better with just a ceramic bezel. I still prefer the SS bezel, and many I know or talk to prefer the SS too.

How can it be exclusive something made in there thousands and in a few years tens of thousands.Yes it might be hard to get at retail but that's mainly down to those buying and flipping to the grey market where there are hundreds of them for sale. And while there are those willing to pay crazy grey prices that's where most will end up.Outdated well the movement is the came cal 4130 that was first launched in 2000 basically its the same watch with a few purely cosmetic changes.

I agree. I have opened both black and white Ceramic Daytonas and both SS bezel daytonas. I prefer and own the white non ceramic 116520, more classy though less sporty.
