I would but only because I have zero interest in Panerai.

I do not have any idea about relative values.

Hard call ... the 423 is a nice watch, although I wish it didn't state "power reserve" on the dial. But Rolex is the biggest offender of text on a dial, so there's that.

Can you get the EII and keep the 423, at least for a little while? It would be nice to try before trading in your PAM.

If I had to make a decision it would be trade the PAM for the EII.

Too many watches. This would basically move me to all Rolex. JC, SD43, White Skydweller and Exp II. I am next on the list to get a Blue SD, so I would most likely get rid of the white one and keep the blue once its in .

Hi buddy, both are nice watches. But I'm leaning towards the exp 2 polar. It might be my next one.

It’s a fair trade... if you want to change things up, why not.

Do it. Panerai craze is over. Would love to love the brand again, but they are milking inventing their history while producing only okay watches/movements.

I have a PAM 111 and an Exp2 42mm Polar.

I would do the trade.

I still like Panerai as a brand as well as its history but they seem to have lost their way. And well, tastes towards large watches have changed too.

Doubt you will regret doing the trade.

I wouldn't do it. It's better to have the variety of different brands. If the 423 isn't singing to you anymore, trade it for a different brand - JLC, GO, GS, BP...

While the Pam is valued slightly higher (asking), they are toxic to sell. I would definitely trade, and if you don’t “connect” with the EXP, flip it easily ...........

Run, don't walk to do this trade. The trade value of your Panerai is sub 5k. Just send a TS a note and see what they say for trade value. Most will not take it. I am a huge Panerai fan and own a 422 but would do this trade all day long.

Has the Panerai market really become this bad? I sold all of mine (5-total) in 2005-2006, but I didn't know the bottom dropped out that bad.

I love Panerai, sold my only one recently to fund a Rolex. I would do the deal, go get another Panerai later, much easier to get.

I would do this, I've had a number of Panerai and gone through that craze, you have a chance to get out and own a far superior watch in my opinion. EXPII is one of my favorites!

Unfortunately yes.

Panerai has overproduced, exorbitantly priced and under-designed itself right into the doghouse with watch buyers.

Luxury buyers hate that $hi7 and they will make the manufacture pay DEARLY for those mistakes..mainly by ignoring them..

Sad but true. I went to a grey a few weeks ago with my 2015 PAM111 to see if they’d be interested in it. One of the last produced runs of what was for a long time one of the iconic references. He offered 50% less than what I paid new. I said I’ll think about it as I don’t really need the funds now and this piece has some sentimental value to it.

Panerai has suffered enormous bloating, too many references, no real direction, goes on and on and on.. This comes from a former paneristi for sure. The brand is fractured for sure. In my opinion of course... :)
