Polar ExpII for older people?

I've recently acquired a 16750 polar ExpII G-serial (which I think is quite rare?). At first it was one of the select few Rolex sports in my budget (also have a 116710LN GMT), and wanted something a bit different to my other watch.

Initially, I was on the fence on black or white dial and thought about it for ages, and settled in end for the polar, but it has different growing more and more on me as the days go past looking at the crisp white dial.

However, I have had a couple of different friends comment that do I not think that it suits "older" people (I'm early 30s for ref).

Was slightly taken back by this but do any others ever get this comment about this watch or thoughts?

Btw, here's mine,

That's ridiculous, it looks great on your for one, and you should always wear what YOU like. Theres an older salesman at my AD in NJ who wears a polar exp II, looks great on him.

Yeah, I wouldn't bother listening as long as you love it. Personally I think the sport models in general don't have a age restriction.

I mean they commented that the ExpII looks too "old" for me in that it would suit someone much older than myself, in that my 116710LN much more suited my age...

Nonsense. Exp II is super versatile and suits any age. Probably the most underrated professional model in the Rolex lineup. For those that do not like Daytona's it is the only white dial in the pro series.

I don't get it, maybe I'm old but that sounds like a silly comment to me.

I walked around with one of these wean I was around age 23-25. Never heard this. Now that I am barely 31 I walk around with Datejust. If anything I could perhaps understand someone saying that about a Datejust with fluted bezel and jubilee, but not an Explorer II

1- your friends use "old" super loosely. i'm 25 and wouldnt even consider you old.
2- that watch is timeless and ageless. theyre wrong

While I don’t agree with the statement that polar exp2 is for old people, I can definitely see where they’re coming from. Had the opportunity to try out a polar 16570 and it didn’t look as sporty as I thought. Maybe it was the white dial but it did kind of look like an older person watch. It definitely depends on the individual wearing the watch and unfortunately didn’t look that great on me.

i have the 42mm version in black, but to me its more sporty than either of my GMTII's and is definitely by far the most casual looking one. The older version has that same vibe.

To me, the more casual it is, the more youthful it is. When i have to act like a grown up, I cant wear sweatpants and that's my im wearing sweatpants all day watch

Wow, that's amazing and still looking great!

I probably worded a bit ambiguous, not saying that my friends were saying I'm old, but that the ExpII suited someone that was alot older than me.

Anyways, from the comments, seems like that's not the case either!

If every Rolex model was available off the shelf and cost the same you could verify your premise on what older customers would buy.

I think it is a beautiful watch, and cant agree with the " for older people" comment. I have my eye on one to go with mu Submariner and GMT and the polar face would be my choice as well.

Only to people under 30. Once they hit 40, they'll realize how stupid they were for thinking that.
