Purchased Rolex from Barbados? Stock Levels??

Hey Guys

Wondered if any of you have purchased from Barbados and any one know whether there’s more chance in the Caribbean for SS professional models. Planning a trip out there early next year.

Thanks in advance

Even if there is availability (which I doubt), if exchange rate doesn’t kill it, VAT will (which by law you ‘should’ pay on return to the UK). I go to the USA every year and watch purchases just don’t add up.

If you purchase the watch in Barbados, You would need to add the 20% UK VAT price to the purchase price and then decide whether it is worth it or not. This would need to be declared at UK customs.

December 2014 - they had two deep sea blues and the dollar rate was quite good for us. Worked out about £7,000. I didn’t buy and regretted it as soon as I got home.

And yes you are supposed to declare on return and pay 20% vat.

I emailed the Rolex AD in Aruba about 3 months before my arrival asking for a hulk. About a month before I arrived they had emailed me back saying that they got one for me and if I pre paid for it, they would hold it in their safe for me until my arrival. Which I did and picked it up with no issues. This was May 2018.

Thanks for this, appreciate it. Might give this a go and try my luck. Congrats on the hulk :)
