I've never seen a clasp with Rolex on the inside folds and a Tudor shield on the outer clasp.

...I have seen several and I believe I may have a few on hand. If so, I will post them later tonight after I get back from the nursing home-gotta go eat supper with mom. (Will be leaving in about 30 min's or so.)

Very interesting, Stan. Learned something new and it's Saturday. Never knew that combo existed. Any idea when that transition would have taken place? My Tudor DD [1970] has the Rolex folded 7836 w/ the Rolex crown clasp.

...here is a mix of Tudor bands with BOTH versions, showing the transitional and the regular Tudor Coronet logo. Some are 7835, some are 7836, and yet the Jub's. Sorry about the slight blurr-hand held. Out of 16 Tudor bands checked, ONLY 1 of the transitional have a date code, which is a E with a T below it-and, this may only be some other manufacturing code.

...also note, the second pic is of the transitional 93150 buckle with the notched side and the regular 93150 buckle. AND if you think about it, the 9315 buckle transitioned to HAVING a safety lever detent/rest area on the buckle. Just thought I would do this as we move along and had the Tudor bands out.

...Rolex is full of transitional stuff.

Err buddies...Orchi concurs with buddy Stan...it was pretty normal for Tudor...to have folded links with Rolex Clasps...in those era.

But not the other way around...

...it is a solid 14K with a Tudor Bumper mvm't. This may be the rarest of all the Tudors. There are 2 in S/S on ebay right now. Of course, your rotating bezeled D/D is close- The ONLY other one like my 14K, that I have seen, is in "The Best of Time". The ref# of the 14K is a 951, made in 3 metals, S/S, 14K, and 18K.

...I also have a solid 18K Tud, but not as rare.

My tudor monte carlo has a clasp that has rolex on the inside (folding parts) and has the tudor logo on the outside. Perhaps this was a 1970's transition period for the bracelets?

Never posted here before and really don’t know anything about Rolex watches (yet). I have just inherited a Rolex Oyster from my Dad. It has a bracelet marked 7835 / 19 and 361 on the ends. Inside the clasp (the shiny bits that fold out) it says Registered Swiss Made / a fancy Rolex logo /the letter “H” and STEELINOX. On the outside is the Shield logo.
I believe that is the same as you are describing here.
What I can add though is that this strap came with the Rolex Oyster manual wind when he bought it. Also that he bought it from another soldier when on his National Service in Germany, this would place it between 1957 - 1959. I think he said in 1959.

Ah, correcting myself.
Found another strap with a pin broken where the bracelet attaches to the clasp. This was perhaps the original one and he retired it because broken. This one seems less well made with rivets sticking out of the side and does not say Rolex anywhere, just Stainless Steel on the inside with two prominent horizontal bars. Plain on the front.
Sorry about that, I will have to look around the net, see if I can figure it out.
