YM 40mm blue has updated movement

Just checked a few things on Rolex website and see the 116622 has the 3235 movement whilst the subs get the 3135 still.

Not just the blue dial, all 40 mm Yacht-Masters get the new movements.
Good eyes for details.

Objectively, subjectively, and practically!

Yet another reason for buying the YM over the Sub, not that I needed one, I've always been a fan of the more refined YM.

this is weird, so Rolex changes the movement without changing the reference number?

Well spotted, too, on the reference number being updated. Wouldn't want to be holding 116622 stock now; a small victory against the greys.

After a 116622 or 126622 myself, pricing should be better.

This also explains why I've been unable to find a 116622 blue from an AD for last six months.

I asked DavidSW and he said no change to price of 116622. Good luck with that.

My trusted seller had a very hard time to source a NIB 116622 last year. Now i understand why...
I am so glad i could get one of the last. Not saying the 3235 is an issue. I just prefer not to buy one of the very first model of something new. Could be a 335i, an iPhone or whatever... It always takes a few years of adjustment to make something very reliable.

Thanks for sharing that fact anyway.

It happened when Rolex updated its website for Basel. The new-movement blue-dial gold BLRO showed up at the same time.

no update on the steel/platinum models though, the easylink 5mm extension link remains.

The 3235 was introduced in 2015, it's not exactly "new" new. From my personal experience with my DJ41, the 3235 movement is totally worth it.

126622 does not seem to be a lighter blue. I wonder of the 116261 will be getting the same change to 3235

I believe the dial colour has remained the same. The only dial difference I think is the small rolex crown/logo between the words Swiss and Made at the 6 o'clock position.
In Canada the price increase is CAD $200. Not that much I suppose!
