Taking my watches on a holiday!
So I’m going away next month and was planning on taking all 3 of my watches to enjoy the sun and sea with me. I have a BLNR, Skydweller TT and a Datejust 41 TT. I will be gone for a month and It will be a relaxed beach holiday with my other half.
As I only brought my watches the end of last year I have not yet been on a beach holiday with them. I don’t want to sound stupid but is there anything I should no before or after going into the sea salt water with them apart from the obvious making sure the crown is screwed tightly closed? Secondly the hotel does have a safe in the room however I don’t no how trustworthy it is. Has anybody had any bad experiences with hotel room safes before?? Thirdly do u think taking all 3 watches with me or is that a no no! If so then what do you think would be the most durable for water sports etc?? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Why would you take all three watches with you on a holiday...
I would be more stressed out if my watches would be safe than enjoying my vacation. Bring one and that's it, enjoy your vacation. |

Just rinse with fresh water sometime after going into pool or ocean.

Bingo! BLNR should go with you, timezone and the fliplock just to be on the safer side, not that any other clasp would fail. But still.
Enjoy your trip!

Honestly, I don't understand people who travel with 2-3-4-5 watches to some location for x days or weeks. You really need to change your watch every 3 hours? I don't even like wearing anything on my wrist at the beach. Not even a seiko.
Just take one and be done with it. Why on earth would you be ok with +30k worth of watches in your bag or luggage. |

Headed to Mexico in a couple months and I don’t think I could handle the stress. Probably dumb but I am going to relax and have fun.

Hotels are pretty clear about having no liability for the contents of the safes in their room. If it were me, I'd take just one piece to have on my wrist the whole time.

Read that little laminated card inside the hotel room safe some time. It will basically say they are not responsible for anything in it and that anything of value shouldn't be left in it. I use them for a tablet or car keys or other trinkets I don't want to just leave laying out on the nightstand...but wouldn't leave a $10,000 watch in one.
I travel frequently and generally just take one. Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk |

1) Rinse them with fresh water after the beach
2) I had never had a problem with hotel but I have heard a fair share 3) Take with you as many watches as you want and enjoy them! Safe travels |

You will feel safe with the hotel digital “safe” until you see the YouTube guys opening it with just a fist bump to the top plate!!

So I’ve thought about it abit more and maybe taking all 3 isn’t worth the stress. It’s a shame as I should be able to enjoy my watches rather then be scared to take them away let alone wear them. I know people who own beautiful watches but never wear them because they are worried about getting robbed or damaging them. In my opinion as long as you are humble with them and keep an eye on your surroundings you should be good. Don’t get me wrong I live in London and it’s notorious for watch theft however u learn when to have your watch on display or hidden under a jumper/coat
Also thanks for the advice on rinsing the watch with clean water after going in and out of the sea! All I have to do now is decide what watch to take! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I would only take one and always keep it on the wrist. Just rinse with fresh water when done. Nothing note stressful then thinking if your other two watches are still in the “safe”

Take one. Enjoy it, do two more vacations with the other two :P
There's a masterlock locking deposit bag on Amazon. I have used it inside hotel safes before. But possibility of someone walking away with bag is same. |

Personally, I take one Rolex (or other nice watch) and one workout/beach watch - usually my Apple Watch.

Talking about insurance. I have insurance on my Sky Dweller and Datejust 41 however my insurance company refused to insure me for my BLNR. I was lucky enough to buy it brand new from an AD for £5700 and told them the watch is currently worth £10,000 to £13,000 to replace it. They said the only way they will insure me is if a certified Rolex dealer could confirm and value the watch at that price. This is obviously a problem for a number of reasons. 1-Rolex would never value a watch at grey market prices. 2-The watch is no longer available to buy from an AD. I tried explaining this and they said they are unable to do nothing. Currently looking at other insurance company’s as I would like all 3 insured Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

OP, maybe it’s different where you’re at but my AD does market value upon request. Otherwise they just insure for MSRP.
Back to the topic, depending on where and the duration, I have taken multiple watches. As someone said, as long as you can absorb the loss or they’re insured, why not. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
