Let go BLNR for SD43
Folks, I need your candid opinion to help me overcome my current dilemma. I love my BLNR, however, there is something special about the 126600 proportion plus the red font. Shall I flip my BLNR for the mighty SD43 or hang tight? P.s I’m a free diver and a beach guy (I appreciate your contribution)

Flip it to me at retail. As you can see from my signature I am looking for one.
I guess you could do it if you are over the BLNR but it seems like you still love it. I would keep it and save for the SD. |

I hope you land a pristine BLNR at a great deal, I already got an offer for $12,000, which makes it a very attractive position to trade up. Honestly I’m bit concerned about the future value of the BLNR since the successor was announced.

grey matket price of batman has surpassed the sd43 since it was discontinued. if you can sell yours at a good price, I suggest you get the sd43. the sd43 has more wrist presence and will be more collectable in the future imho.

I wouldn’t make that trade. The BLNR is a keeper in my book.

TBH I never thought much of the BLNR and thought I wanted a BLRO based on pics. A few days before Basel I tried both at a local grey dealer and ever since I have been sold on the BLNR. Unfortunately it was a little too late as most BLNR on watchrecon are going for 15-17k now. Fortunately for me tho I was able to place a deposit on a royal oak the other day at their boutique. Will be anxiously awaiting the day those BLNR prices drop!

Given the current price on the grey market I dont see why not if your wanting something else. But as thekman says I sense a certain attachment to the BLNR and you wont be able to buy it back at retail if you do miss it.

I prefer the SD43 to the BLNR personally.

I would not
The SD is too large for me and the BLNR has more functionality for what I do

I always advocate adding rather than flipping
The SD43 is a beautiful reference, and it’s hard to argue tbat Rolex didn’t just nail this one on the head. It’s proportions are perfect IMO and it’s got everything you could ever want or need in a diver. That said, the SD 43 wears quite differently than the BLNR. Many here wear them daily which is fine for some. For me it’s just slightly too heavy for that. |

From the picture looks like both fit you fine. The SD43 is the more "special" of the two. It has the history, the red lettering, the HEV, it's just the more interesting watch IMO. You said you dive which should make getting the diver the obvious choice.

If you're ever going to build a collection, keep it and add a DaytonaC. Ultimate air/land/sea combo!
If downsizing, dump the BLNR. SD43 > BLNR for many reasons: - Better [case:bracelet] proportions - Nicer lugs - Newer movement |

Not a bad flip. Blnr prices are very strong right now. Maybe they stay that way. But maybe they don’t. Ones the time to profit if you’re considering it.

The BLNR is a beauty and hot model, one of the hottest, but you ask for general opinion and this is mine: Do it! The SD43 is the most handsome diver Rolex ever made for me, and the proportion, dial, bracelet and red text is beautiful!! You can sell you BLNR and buy the SD43 for less. BUT you must like BIG watches because the SD is a NICE MONSTER! Is my daily I even fall sleep with the SD on my wrist but I like badass watches.

If the SD43 is what you want then make the move. However, if you decide later that the Batman is worth having it may be difficult to acquire and will likely demand a premium. If keeping the Batman and saving for SD43 is possible that would be preferred.

If possible, then I’d certainly hold on to the BLNR and get the SD43 in addition. If I had to choose letting one go between my 2 then I’d have to let the SD43 go due to the fact that most fellow forum members have made that trying to obtain a BLNR again may prove difficult or at a big premium!

I have both. I feel like the SD43 is much easier to wear in casual settings...though I wear either wherever.
But since I have business in other time zones, I find the GMT very useful. My point, these two watches have enough difference in utility and look that I hope you decide to keep both. |

If one or the other, I'd go SD43 but if possible I would add.

I flipped my BLNR because for me it was too Pedestrian. I now own the SD43 which in my opinion is a much nicer watch.
