Need some guidance....

Hi everyone...new to the forum and watches....I'm a car guy and not into watches but my wife wants one....so it's a simple question but probably not a simple answer....where's the best place to buy?

My local Authorized dealer for "MSRP"?
Online?
NYC where my buddy knows "a guy" (don't we all)?

I'm going to get here a specific watch....Datejust 31 Oyster, white gold with Diamonds, chocolate face....$12,150

I have no problem buying form the dealer but just want to know if it's a wise move....my friend says he never buys a watch for retail but it sounds like he may not always be buying specific color combos.....

Excuse my ignorance and any help is appreciated

Its a great feeling the day you purchase from an AD, and I can imagine you go to sell it with a one owner pedigree. Aside from those moments, the watch is the watch. If shes keeping it, get a good one for as cheap as you can.

I’d buy from the AD and you can get a discount on women’s anything with diamonds. I bought my wife the 31mm with diamonds and received a very nice discount. The other advantage is starting the relationship with an AD for future purchases. My 2 cents...

I would 100% buy this piece from the AD. I would shoot for 15-20% off. If you aren’t given it shop around a bit.

You also get a sense of comfort when buying from an AD (e.g., warranty in your name, full 5 years, etc.) that is worth a good chuck of change when purchasing a high-end item.

Couldn’t have said it any better. Good luck on the journey.

I think you’re better with an AD. And she would prolly like the AD experience to go along with the purchase.

Shop around for an AD. You might be able to save on the tax as well due to your close proximity to other states.
