Non-watch people
So I took my kids swimming this morning for their weekly lessons. My middle son is 2, so I have to go in the water with him for the ‘parent and tot’ class.
Typically I wear an Apple Watch or a Japanese automatic into the pool. For whatever reason, I wore my 116710 today. One of the other dads - clearly not a watch guy - stopped me as I was getting into the water to ask if I was really going to wear my watch into the pool. He thought it may get ruined. I politely told him I was confident it would be alright... and proceeded in. |

That was very thoughtful of the other dad, but I'm sure you, your son, and your watch had a great time!

Nice story. Good on him for trying to be helpful and good on you for your polite response. But more importantly, kudos to you both for taking your tots to swimming lessons :)

I'd appreciate the other father trying to help out. GJ being respectful & not spouting off the phrase "screw-down crown" and "water resistance" to a stranger who will forever think of you as a douche hahahah
I am not a father, but am recently married & an avid swimmer. I look forward to the day that I can take my future child to a swim class. Enjoy your time with your son. I remember when my dad played around in the pool with me when I was a child. Great memories. |

I read that hot tubs are more of a risk for YG models

Maybe the Dad giving the advice is a watchmaker at Rolex and assumed you knew that chlorine rots the triplock seals

That’s funny. My wife still questions me before I step into the shower with my watch.
