How to get the watch you want at an AD

The forum is flooded with threads about how people are fed up with their ADs because they can’t buy the watch they want and how they “keep them in the safe” well, I have a solution to your problem.

Walk in to your favorite AD or any AD for that matter. Ask to look at a PM piece. While doing so, ask the SA to bundle it with the watch you want that they might have “in the safe” Purchase both (on credit if you can’t afford to pay cash) and return the PM piece for a full refund within the return policy window, usually 3 days. I have not tried this but it might get you the watch you want faster than hanging out on the “wait list” It’s worth a shot!

Your best case scenario would be you get on the "contacts list" for that SS watch in my opinion.

There are no refunds on Rolex watches, at least not at my AD.

With stickers removed and sized the only legal recourse you could be entitled to a refund if the PM Piece was faulty. Just don’t bet on getting anything else SS in future as you’ve just used your PM card

My AD has a 15% restocking fee which they claim is per Rolex. Also, some ADs don’t play that game. But for those that do, you’ll be out of pocket almost the cost of that SS when you return if they have a restocking fee.

I don't think you would get away with 'All sales final' with current consumer laws in the UK, interesting idea though!!

We should sue Rolex for unfair trading practice.
Any lawyer here?

They're not that stupid. This is how their system works and this is how (part of it at least) they keep their value high.

Cheers.

Hmmm. It is advisable to look over pieces with a loupe.

If in a parallel universe, or 7th dimension, Costco bought Rolex then you’d have an angle...
