Winding jumbo is difficult and silent?

Played with a jumbo a few days ago and noticed how hard it is to manually wind (not pressure-wise, but feels delicate), and I also noticed that winding doesn't emit any audible sound unless your in a silent room. Is this normal?

Yes normal. There is a tool made by AP that makes the task easier but I am not sure how to procure one.

It is the only minor gripe of an otherwise perfect watch.

I used to own a 15202 and winding it was not my favorite thing to do (setting the date was my least favorite actually).

The crown feels a bit flimsy and I've read that it has come out once or twice.

I was super careful so when I wound it and set the date I wore it for many days straight to avoid going through it again.

In the end it was the non quick set date that did it for me, and it made way for a 5711.

But I miss it so much! Should have just put it on a winder and be done with it.

Perfectly normal and nothing to worry about. AP 15202 is not a Rolex. Just treat it carefully like you would any other dress watch and it’ll be totally fine. If this irritates your OCD, stick to Rolex and g-shock.

winding and setting the date on the jumbo is a straight up PIA.

while setting the date my fat fingers would constantly push the crown back in before i was done requiring pulling the crown back out several times while trying to set.

that said it is a beautiful, classic and true to its origin like few other watches.
