Which is the correct box for my GMT master II?

Dear all... today I was messing up with my watches.... just bought a submariner for my dad.... putting the watches aside I found the box I got with my GMT, which is a 116710ln, is smaller than the one I got two weeks ago.... The one that came with the GMT is an oyster S, whereas the one with the sub is an oyster M... is everything ok? The watches came from the same AD.

It doesn't matter at all, although I remember my ss sub box is smaller than GMT's

My GMT II came with a Small box too...makes no difference to me though, takes up less space which is a positive I suppose.

Look at the white tag that came with your watch. It’ll say Oyster S/M/L/XL in the bottom right corner designating which box it should come with.

Look at your white tag, that's where the box size is written (look if S or M is written, bottom right if I remember correctly).
My LN also has the small box.

Rolex boxing is a bit strange, all of my watches came in a small box, except for 36mm TTDJ, and recently acquired LVc, which came in Medium boxes

I was told all SS watches come in small boxes
All TT watches come in Medium boxes
All PM come in large boxes

No idea how accurate that info is though...

With my watches I have only the green tags... I thought they should have the same boxes... anyway I’ll continue to enjoy them regardless of the boxes

My sub came in the same size box as my Daytona (large) while the GMT and my wife's DJ has the smaller one.

No idea what determines the size.

Rolex slowly shifted from S boxes to M boxes for professionals late last year. Easiest way is to check the white tag.

Watches are not shipped in boxes, those are sent to the Dealer separately. The Dealer then chooses what box to put a watch in.

It should have a small box. But it doesn’t matter. They’re shipped to the AD in coffins and then the AD grabs a box when it sells. I’ve received many steel models in the medium box. Provably it’s just what the AD grabbed at the time.

The white hang tag indicates which box is correct. For SS watches it was "OYSTER S" for small until recently. The most current hang tag indicates "OYSTER M" for the medium size box. My 116610LN, bought in 2017 has the small box. My 216570 Exp ll, bought in 2019, has the medium box.

The hang tags on the watch note which box size they are to be paired with, the dealer doesn't choose.

As many have indicated before me, the white tag nowadays stipulate which presentation box should follow with purchase. The box size for the SS professional models have recently shifted from ‘OYSTER S’ to ‘OYSTER M’.
I purchased a 214270 in March 2018 which was marked OYSTER S on the white tag and came with the small box. My 116710LN purchased in December 2018 was marked OYSTER M and came with the medium box. AD also confirmed this is is new practice.

Would a jubilee bracelet GMT II come in an "Oyster M" box with "Oyster M" on the hang tag?

Whatever the AD has on hand
Personally don’t really care. Once my watches are in the leather watch box, the Rolex box goes in the closet and usually never see the light of day for years

So to answer your question, no idea which size box goes with what

My GRNR came with the M box, as indicated on the white tag.
