Almost ready.....thoughts on GMT SARU

Just getting some outside thoughts on this piece. Thinking of acquiring, but the only thought that keeps running through my head is ....is it good as a casual piece?
Jeans, t-shirts, polos, loafers, etc....I never dress up.

Am I overthinking it...just get it and wear the heck out of it?
Too special? looks to dressy?

From others I’ve talked to who’ve had experience, the feedback I’ve received is...it goes basically unnoticed, and doesn’t scream out loud...for what it is. WIS notice but not many others.

Collective thoughts of TRF ??

Thanks for any input as always.

Unless you are a rap mogul or a cartel member I would say no. 99% will think it is fake and cheezy.

That kind of cash I'd get something more subdued and platinum.

I've seen it in person once, preowned at an AD in Orlando, it is a stunning watch. Looked pretty flashy to me but not in a distasteful way.

I think it'd go great with a more casual wear. If you like it - why not?

The ice is minimal, Uncle has one, majority of people will think it’s a fake watch.

It’s not cheap, I would not be seeking forum validation for this piece.

You have a great collection and taste from what I have seen. This watch is inconsistent with both your taste and collection in my opinion. This is less watch and more jewelry once again in my opinion.

With that said who the hell am I to tell you what to do...but you asked. Cheers and respect!

This isn’t as blingy as you might think.. you have to see it in person.

With TRF, don’t expect many liking this.
I think it is an awesome watch and if I could afford it, yeah, casual, well, dressed, even naked, who cares?
Get it and enjoy it.

It is a step outside the watches you have moved your collection towards. I once saw the Submariner with factory stones. While I might not be able to rock it, I thought it was kind of cool and subdued for the amount of stones it had. Have you considered one? I guess being more monochromatic than this or a Rainbow Daytona, it could be a slightly smaller step in that direction.

IMO the diamonds on the lugs are what give it a bit too much bling.

Nice watch and you can probably pull it off. I guess with your collection though, I wouldn’t see a need to add this one

If I was in the market for something like this ( if I win the lottery) I would take the SABR Over this GMT.
Not a fan of the pink jewels.

I think it’s great, you can rock it with any attire you like. I would also assume the crowd you run with would never assume it’s fake.

Unfortunately most of the audience here think anything beyond a steel Rolex is too much.

Get it! Enjoy it and ignore the noise

I agree with this. If I could afford something that I wanted, I would get it.

The sentiment of getting a watch that is “subtle” and goes unnoticed is something to aspire for, then turning around and saying this reference will be ridiculed and called out as fake by strangers is absurd.

I watched Talking Watches 2 with John Mayer and he shows off the Rainbow Daytona. He said when they first came out people immediately thought “Yuck. Who would do that?”. He then goes on to say, “The joy of collecting superseded the design of these watches”. This watch looks very similar to that Rainbow Daytona to me. If you have a collection already and you see this in person and love it, it doesn’t matter what people here think. Wear it and love it.

If you love it and you can afford it, go for it. Nobody who knows you will question its authenticity, because if you're the kind of person to buy that watch then you're also the kind of person to show your wealth and buying habits in other ways.

While I don't personally care for the SARU, I would absolutely buy the SABR submariner if I had the money to spare.
