Looks like he couldn't even get a hot model and had to settle for a YM. Smart kid, probably refused to pay gray.

I’m not a fan of the watch and Google had to tell me who he is - an American egg-chaser - but the YM II matches his outfit perfectly. Nice suit n’all.

I'm not sure I've seen this reference before somehow but I'm a big fan of it personally

He's a great kid, has made NFL football extra exciting the past two years, but I would agree with Dlong, he bought this before the millions he will have from here on...Good for him and he likes a good brand!

Not sure why the YM line is not as popular. Do people not like it ? I could see why people might not like the PM ones. Personally I like it.

Great looking watch but have no purpose for it. I can’t even understand how it works, nor do I want to.

Very unique watch. I just can’t understand the bezel 0 to 10 markings and why it is repeated on the dial. Anyone can explain?

I assume it is to make it easier to see the retrograde timer when you are at the 10 min start of your regatta race. The waves on a yacht make it hard to read the smaller numbers on the dial. That is what Rolex would probably say. But probably make it different than the bezel on the regular yacht master which looks pretty much like the submariner.

To be clear, I’m not suggesting there’s anything wrong with liking this watch, life would be dull if we all liked the same stuff, but to answer the question and the thread title...

Many people with smaller wrists would consider this watch to be too large; the bezel and dial are quite busy and the regatta timer complication doesn’t have any real-world applications (that I’m aware of). So it’s always going to be a niche choice compared to the ubiquitous Subs, GMT’s etc.

I understand that. I like how this particular one looks, but I wouldn’t buy this model. I like the PM YM on OF. And yes, the world would be dull if we all liked the same thing.

Just wish it didn't say Yachtmaster II on the bezel - outside of that it's a great piece.

specifically the YM II would only serve your purpose if you actually own a yacht otherwise its just a busy dial. I am not saying you have to use every watch for its purpose but there definitely is a lot going on for something you know 99% of users do not use and do not know how to use.

Haha, for what it’s worth I also saw the same watch on the wrist of Tony Gonzalez this weekend.

Paul Altieri wrote a good post about how to use the bezel of the Rolex Yacht-Master II on his blog BOB’S WATCHES (I unfortunately cannot link it here as I have less than 10 posts currently, but a quick search on Google should bring it up), here is an excerpt:

How To Use the Yacht-Master II Bezel & Chronograph functions.

To access the chronograph functions, the top and bottom side pushers will be used. To start and stop the chronograph seconds hand on the dial, press the top pusher. It will then begin to sweep clockwise around the dial. To reset the seconds hand to the 12 o’clock position, press the bottom pusher.

To access the programmable Regatta countdown function, unscrew the crown and turn the ring command bezel counterclockwise until it clicks into position (90 degrees). You can then press the bottom pusher to set the bezel. Using the screw-down crown, you can now set the dedicated triangle hand to coordinate with the 10-minute counter that circles the center of the dial. To countdown from 5 minutes, set the hand to the 5 position, and so forth. Rotate the bezel clockwise back into its original position and screw the crown back into the case. Press the top pusher to start or stop the countdown.

Pressing the bottom pusher while the chronograph functions are in use activates the “Flyback” function, which automatically moves the countdown back to the most recent minute. The Regatta chronograph also features a mechanical memory. By resetting the time via the bottom pusher, the triangle hand will automatically return to whichever minute it was initially set at before the countdown began.

Would love the same color bezel, with a white dial style of a submariner.

Great watch on the wrist. I found it much more legible and useful than the Daytona. After trying one on most of the haters soften their tone. It's a beautiful watch.

Not a fan of the watch, but looks good on him.

As for not being able to get the hot pieces-the dude is the face of the NFL. Guy could probably barge into Thierry Stern’s bathroom while he’s doing his business, demand every SS Nautilus in the factory, and Stern would probably happily put that call in for him.
