Got the Call - Rolex Explorer

Honestly, I didn't think it was going to happen. I put myself on a "list" around this time last year not thinking that it would go anywhere. I got a call on Friday from the jeweler saying that they were culling their list. They didn't make any mention that they had an Explorer. All they said was that if I am still interested, I should stop by the store so that they could put a face to the name. They are trying to get rid of out of state buyers, apparently. I stopped by Saturday and sure enough, they showed me the Rolex Explorer. The problem was that they had one person ahead of me still interested in it. I was next in line.

Well, they called me today saying that the person ahead of me passed and the watch was mine if I was still interested. I said hell yeah, and went straight to the store to pick it up!

congratulations! Lucky You! I have my sights on Batgirl but all this waiting is not encouraging. Miss days when one could walk into AD and just pick a steel sports model...
Anyway, ENJOY

Congrats; it was my 1st Rolex, and outside of my Batman Jubilee, it's my fave. Classy, understated and beautiful.

Great piece. The most versatile in the lineup IMO.

Try it on a leather strap, then rubber, then nylon. Enjoy!

Congrats to the OP!

Till sometime back.. the line 'got the call' referred to Daytona, now looks like you'll get the call for all the Rolex models. How times have changed!
