Ok now I’m scared

I went to my local watchmaker today. I was totally floored when I saw two five digit sports models in his display case.

This very well be the end of the world,

i’d say 5 digits are quite common to see at watchmakers, saw a few drawers full at an AD in their preowned sectioned just a couple weeks ago.. and in general everywhere that has used watches, has some, i’ve experienced.

Well, considering it’s a 16.67% digit-mortality rate it could very well be the end of times.

I stopped in today to a Grey here in town that I have bought a couple of watches from over the years (black ceramic white face Daytona and a Pepsi GMT). Stopped in simply because everything is so crazy here I figured why not see some eye candy as a distraction. They had an ample inventory of whatever you would want, and no foot traffic. They may very well be doing on-line sales but in terms of face to face, it was a ghost town. Give it a month or so and if things don’t change there may be some real deals out there.

DIGIT mortality. As in 1/6 since everyone is after the 6- a lot more than the 5-digit, etc, etc.

But I get that you don’t get it. Carry on.

At any point in past 3 years of Rolex craziness, I walked into any gray, who would have 10+ 5 dig, DaytonaC, BLRO, etc. in the display case. I really don’t understand the point of this thread.

There has never been a shortage of watches. It is the pricing that gets a lot of people.
