My Rolex AD is blowing up my phone, Specialty Pieces Available

So, as you know because of corona Rolex Ad’s are closed and they operating over the phone for the past few weeks. For the past week my rep offered me dozen of watches including specialty pieced that normally you have to wait months for (if you lucky) but they have them all in stock now. I could not resist and pulled the trigger on two watches, when else I would get a chance to get a Rolex watch right away without wait. Also was promised a Nautilus (keeping my fingers crossed.)
Obviously he is offering me those because I have a history with them with and did some nice purchases in the past.
And I think as corona and market gets worse more and more watches would be available.
Does anyone else being offered watches by dozens from their ADs?
Thanks and stay safe.

I'm just curious, you said you have a history with the AD having made some nice purchases from them in the past...would you mind sharing what those were?

I am waiting for them. Since there is only like 2 or 3 people working in-the company now and they shipping watches from out of state should have it somewhere this week.

Contacted my AD about my Pepsi order (I've been on the list for 2 years) and told him I had the funds available if he had one available. He said they were closed and he would contact me when they opened back up.

It only makes sense that the more difficult to get pieces will become more available in the next few months. I'm now seeing grey prices dropping as well.

All PM pieces aside rainbow and green Daytona will be readily available as the people spending 40-50k on a watch will drop...the cheaper SS pieces will still be hard to get I believe unless you already purchased some PM pieces or will bundle

I was offered an Explorer and a Submariner last week by my AD. I declined both.

1. What did you get?

2. What did you buy in the past?

I'm curious, were you able to get a discount? Sounds as if they have a decent inventory and you bought two.

Congrats! What was your spend history with the AD? Did you have to buy a few less desirable PP to start?

Not by the dozens, yet yes a few. Also fielding calls from friends and being offered to procure their fine / rare artwork.

We live in interesting times.

I’m curious as to how it works in the states, as I’ve been told by a few AD’s in the uk that they are not allowed by Rolex to discount.

Given the current situation this may change though.

My local AD contacted me and offered a no date submariner. Unfortunately already have a date submariner. My heart hit the floor when he calls me thinking he has a Pepsi or batman for me. Still waiting....

This thread reminds me of that tire kicker who called a seller, offered 19k for a Daytona, came here and posted everything about his 'deal' and after 5 pages we found out he declined when the seller accepted his offer and he was just wasting everyone's time.

However, I think this one here is different and we'll see an incoming soon with two great watches. Let's hope.

I just started working with my AD so I have no purchase history. They are not open and to my knowledge are not doing deals over the phone. Not sure if they are for established clients but I have to wait till they open back up to make my YM purchase. Congrats on the new watches!

Right, I found it interesting that he didn't say what he was offered, wouldn't that be the most important thing to mention?
I guess nothing better to do then blow smoke up our butts.
Would be nice if it were true

The OP never responded, but I still think doubtful to have calls going to multiple clients begging to sell "specialty pieces" whatever those are. I guess a dozen Rainbow Daytonas has arrived A busy AD has a long list of clients who would buy multiple pieces in one phone call. A busy AD has a balance sheet with cash and can wait to reopen the store. Clients who have long standing relationships with their AD also are likely to have balance sheets with plenty of cash as well and can acquire more pieces whenever they like.

I share the same sentiment... Congrats, but give us a bread crumb or two. I never understood these drawn out incomings, especially for common Rolexes. I can see if it was a skeletonized AP, but we've all seen 99% of Rolex incomings on this site.

Rolex can't and don't insist that an AD enforces such a policy. The ADs are talking out of their arses. If the AD won't discount they should just say so. It's easier (and more cowardly) to blame Rolex.
