Sky-Dweller dials available after 5 years ?
Hey guys,
I was talking to my AD last week and we came to the subject of replacement parts, and especially dials. I put my question to him and he blanked out and where else to turn than the experts. The AD told me that Rolex has a strict policy about swapping out parts on a watch. He said that Rolex will only allow you to modify your watch after the first five years that a specific watch model has been introduced. So if you wanted to swap out a bezel insert or dial for a different colour you had to wait for that reverence to be five years on the market. Question, is this a well know policy and if so, won't that mean that in two year everybody will be swapping out their Sky-Dweller dails for a blue one as it is considered the most wanted by many ??? |

Your AD needs to pull his head out from where it currently resides.

Some references offer dial-swaps on exchange only basis. Blue Skydweller is one of them. For example if you have a blue one, drop it with shattered crystal and damaged dial as a result they will obviously replace it with a service. But sending in a white steel Skydweller and request for blue dial is absolutely not possible.
Your AD can check this in the online parts order tool. “Exchange only” in red lettering means it’s restricted. But For example a older choco Everose Skydweller can be sent in for dial change to newer Rhodium variant without any problem. In Europe that is, US can be different. |
