Story time
So this happened to me today. I walked in to my local AD looking for a Sub and of course they didn’t have any, BUT they had a SS Yachtmaster and a white face two tone Daytona.. So i decided to jump and buy the Daytona. The sales lady came up to me and asked if she could help, I told her I would go ahead and buy the TT Daytona and she said, "well sir, if you want to buy that watch you also have to buy a woman’s Rolex”… I was so pissed i asked to speak with manager, and to my surprise she was in a meeting off site.. left with nothing!

What??? That AD didn’t see all the threads that the bottom is falling of the Rolex market, demand had plummeted, and AD’s will be begging for us to buy steel Daytona’s at a discount??
Joking aside, even if the manager would have agreed to sell it, I don’t think I would buy anything there. I hope you find the Daytona you want and an AD who will appreciate your business. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

That’s hilarious. BTW as far as i know sales staff is not getting their commissions on SS models. Don’t know about TT though. That’s might be the reason why she pushed on woman’s model

Just curious, is it actually legal to refuse to sale a product that is clearly available?

You should have turned the tables around and asked her why she assumed you knew any women whatsoever. Jedi mind trick, works every time probably.

So if I’m correct, they’ve been closed for almost 2 months paying rent with practically no sales, and they have the balls to come up with that bundle nonsense? The world is definitely crazy!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

That's pretty harsh especially on a TT Daytona.....
I'd be pretty upset, I might have sued them for bait and switch.

Is it against forum rules to post the name of the AD (and SA)? Unless this AD is receiving government money I think they can refuse you service at their discretion. Of course if they are refusing service because of race, religion, etc you could probably sue them. In my mind really the only recourse is leaving a bad Yelp! review which wouldn’t be any different than calling them out here. I get that it is the AD’s right to decide whether they want to bundle certain watches or not, but it is your right as a consumer to inform your fellow consumers of the business practices of certain businesses. Us other consumers can then decide where we want to take our business. If they call me saying they have a Pepsi, I will probably take it. However, if I am looking for a PM model and can get it from this AD or another one that does not engage in the kind of behavior, I would prefer to support the AD with a business model I approve of.

Not uncommon especially in Asia. And it’s not limited to Rolex AD’s

If you really want this piece, call back and speak to the manager. (Something tells me it’s still sitting in the case) Tell the manager you are very upset about how you were treated, and that you are going to complain to Rolex HQ. It’s worth a shot. I had a similar instance happen to me. I mentioned it to my buddy at Rolex service Centre. He told a manager. And within 3 weeks I had a Batman for retail. Good luck! .... aaaand that's how you lose a customer. Would probably not call back and threaten with reporting it to Rolex HQ. You would put yourself on the same low level as the AD and cant really see why you would want to spend your money there anyways.

I would never enter that boutique again. When I was still looking to buy my first Rolex, the SA at the Rolex boutique stopped me to buy watches I was not really fully interested in just for the sake of availability. She asked not to compromise and promised me to get me what I want within weeks. That SA you dealt with did the opposite. Divert unprofessional attitude to say the least. That’s crazy. You can buy one cheaper grey anyway.
