Question about terminology: does Revision/Révision mean service or overhaul?

Forgive my ignorance if this is known to the watch enthusiasts:

as suggested by the title, I've seen descriptions of watches identifying particular pieces have undergone "revision via Rolex" or "révision at Rolex," etc.

I thought 'revision' in English usually is pertinent to the meanings such as "modification." But does this word in French and German mean service or overhaul in the context of "servicing a Rolex"?

The reason I'm asking is that I saw watches are advertised on the internet with the term "revision," for example:

https://www.chrono24.com/rolex/explo...41989.htm#gref

or "service card" suggesting "date de la révision"

If a watch has been serviced or overhauled by Rolex, it would be totally fine; however, if the watched is "revised" or "modified," then it's a different story.

Revision is a service whereby the movement is taken apart and worn out parts replaced.

Rolex does not modify

Yes that means overhaul.

It is the old type warranty card though.

Thank you both for replying!

So if a Rolex comes with the type of warranty card, as seen in my first post, does it mean the watch has been completely overhauled, instead of a regular service/maintenance?
