Datejust II Value

2017 41MM DATEJUST II

In your opinion would a datejust II retain its value.
They seem to be hard to come by since it is an older style
And the new 41MM are just called datejust with limited design face and bezel options
I found one I like At a jewelry shop I trust
Just not sure if I should get something a little more traditional and
How much did these go for when they first came out with Roman numerals

I think this post is better suited for this sub-forum: https://www.rolexforums.com/forumdisplay.php?f=2
